2 Federation: Shared Responsibility... Collective Action... Giving for Today and Tomorrow Every day, the Greater Miami Federation funds an extensive network of programs and agencies that make a real difference. GREATER MIAMI JEWISH FEDERATION We work to bring together the human and financial resources necessary to care for those in need, strengthen life and advance the unity, values and shared purpose of the people in Miami, in Israel and around the world. Federation is shared responsibility in action, where donations large and small join together, enabling us to do good as one community.

3 Federation Cares for People in Need 1 in 8 people in Miami s community depends on Federation and our local partners for some form of financial assistance. 165,000+ kosher meals were provided last year to Holocaust survivors and other seniors in Miami through Community Services home-delivery and meal sites programs. $676,000+ in emergency funds was granted to 627 families affected by recent devastating wildfires in Israel. Food, medicine and other essentials were delivered last year to 6,300 people in war-torn Ukraine. Federation Strengthens Identity and Education 438 children and young adults with special needs were welcomed last year into inclusive social, educational and recreational programs. $2 million+ in grants and scholarships are allocated annually to 11 day schools and 11 congregational schools in Miami, impacting nearly 5,000 students. Last year, 2,000 young Miamians traveled to Israel as part of Alexander Muss High School in Israel, Taglit-Birthright Israel, Diller Teen Fellows, Leo Martin March of the Living, Masa Israel Journey and Onward Israel programs. This past year, 833 at-risk Israeli students living in youth villages received educational, clinical and social services to help them succeed in school. Federation Builds Community 5,000 people donate 16,000+ hours annually to community organizations and their clients through Federation s Volunteer Center. $6.4 million in Homeland Security grants has been secured by Federation s Community Relations Council to help safeguard community institutions. 4,883 French Jews escaping anti-semitism in France received financial and community support after immigrating to Israel this past year. Federation Encourages Innovation Hundreds of students in Miami s day schools and community centers (JCCs) are learning from Israel s innovators through the Miami-Yerucham Partnership Robotics Program. A new Tzofim (Israeli Scouts) chapter at the Michael-Ann Russell JCC helps Hebrew-speaking children of Israelis in Miami strengthen their identity and maintain a connection to Israel. The Venezuela Support Campaign is raising funds in partnership with Miami-based Friends of Yajad to assist the people of Venezuela during this current crisis. The Women s Amutot Initiative in Israel funds non-governmental organizations that encourage women and girls and work to effect societal change. The Women s Impact Initiative in Miami makes grants annually to organizations empowering women and girls to combat social, economic, religious and political issues.
