1 Welcome We want to thank you, on behalf of Boeing Portland, for applying to the Boeing Portland Machining Tech Prep Program. The following pages contain information to be completed and returned to Boeing by Thursday, April 19, If you have any questions, contact your school counselor or contact person. Application Information: Portions of this application are completed by the student, parent/guardian, counselor/sponsor, and staff/professional of the student s choice. Allow enough time for each portion to be completed so the entire application is RECEIVED at Boeing Portland no later than Thursday, April 19, It is the student s responsibility to ensure the entire application is complete and delivered on time. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted. Provide thorough and complete answers. Accuracy, neatness, and attention to detail are important so that your application can be evaluated quickly and accurately. Applications are due Thursday, April 19, Interviews will be held Thursday, May 10, First year program dates are June 18 - July 13, Students must be committed to the program. Attendance is mandatory. No vacations area allowed. If attendance requirements are not met, you will be excused from the program. This is a real job; you will be paid to learn! Program Expectations What to expect from Boeing: Hands-on machining and textbook/classroom learning opportunities. A real manufacturing work environment with a focus on safety. Training and supervision by qualified professionals. Opportunities to learn and interact with a variety of professionals within the manufacturing industry. What Boeing expects from each student: Engage in and complete the tasks assigned by Boeing instructors. Be onsite and ready to learn between 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday for the duration of the four week program. Behave in a safe, courteous, and professional manner consistent with Company expectations. Be a self-starter, willing to take initiative, and be a team player. Be interested in pursuing manufacturing as a career. Student performance is reviewed each year of the program. What machining or manufacturing experience do you have? 2. How have your experiences prepared you to be a participant in the Boeing Portland Machining Tech Prep Program? 3. How will you be able to meet the expectations of a student in the program? See the list of expectations on page 2 of this application. Take time to do this carefully because your answers are a key factor in determining whether or not you will be invited for an interview.
