Planning Land Use Planning Poten>al benefits of developing a land-use plan include: A beker understanding of community resources Strengthened capacity and technical skills at the community level A sense of community ownership and engagement in future development The ability to respond to business opportuni>es more quickly and in an orderly fashion The ability to undertake informed long term planning for community development Strategic Economic Development Plans A carefully built framework that s long-term in scope. It s used to help communi>es address diverse issues and goals.

Land Readiness ATR Designa;on Lease Permit A parcel of land that is added to the exis>ng reserve land, or that creates a new reserve Enables Canada to fulfill legal obliga>ons established by specific claim Can increase community and economic development Designate reserve lands for specific purposes (commercial; industrial) Allows a business partner to temporarily operate on a specified por>on of the reserve FUNDING SUPPORT AVAILABLE The rental of reserve land to a non-band member or a company (including a First Na>on corpora>on) for business development Grants exclusive use of land for a fixed period of >me Allow nonmembers to use reserve lands in a limited (nonexclusive) way for a specific period of >me. Use ranges fr: removal of clay, sand, gravel, non-metals, fallen >mber all the way to access, u>lity services, & grazing/ag-use permits
