(CBC) by Ravi Malhotra CBC intents to establish solid biofuel production facilities at various locations in Colorado and elsewhere using primarily biomass waste mixed with other waste streams available locally. CBC s first facility will be in Canon City in partnership with Aquila Inc., the local utility, to co-fire CBC s engineered biofuel at their coal-fired power plant. Porous Power Technologies, LLC (PPT) by Tim Feaver Toyota has announced plans to sell over a million lithium-ion-based Hybrid Electric Vehicles annually within the decade. PPT s patent-pending high-porosity battery separator membranes (named the 2005 Advanced Energy Storage Technology Innovation of the Year by Frost and Sullivan) will allow these and most other lithium-ion batteries to charge up to 50% faster, to increase capacity up to four times under heavy load, and to cycle 50% longer. & The Second Annual Colorado Sustainable Business Medal of Honor Winners will be announced at the CCI meeting and will be introduced at the Second Annual Sustainable Opportunities Summit March 1.
