Saneholtz, P.E., Civil Engineer ROSSFORD SHARED ADMINISTRATION FACILITY PDG worked with the Wood County Port Authority to obtain $100,000 from the Ohio Local Government Fund (LGIF) to conduct a study to explore the feasibility of constructing and operating a shared administrative facility for the City of Rossford and Rossford City Schools. The Convention & Visitors Bureau will also share the space. Working with the study committee, PDG has evaluated potential sites for the shared facility. A preferred site has been selected by the committee and PDG has developed a preliminary concept design for the facility. As part of the feasibility study, a master plan was developed for redevelopment of the downtown area that locates the proposed shared administration facility as a key component of redevelopment. Development concepts were also prepared for existing school property no longer used for education facilities. Additionally, the committee explored other facilities and operational functions that could be shared by the City and the Schools that would reduce costs for both agencies. PDG facilitated a public meeting to present the shared administration facility concepts and other proposed opportunities to share facilities and operations to the community. Stuckey, Construction Administration EMERGENCY SHELTER RELOCATION/EXPANSION PDG has been working with The Cocoon since 2011 to expand the existing 12 bed emergency shelter that does not meet the functional and security needs of residents. The Cocoon wants to expand the Shelter to 24 beds for victims of domestic violence. The Shelter is an emergency shelter for victims and their families and provides supportive services to victims of domestic violence seeking assistance even if they are not a resident of the shelter. PDG analyzed several potential locations for relocation of the shelter, as well as expanding the current facility. The Cocoon Board of Directors and staff finally determined to purchase a former restaurant and Elks lodge to renovate for Emergency Shelter and Cocoon client services and administrative offices. The purchase was contingent on rezoning. PDG prepared the rezoning request, which was approved by the City of Bowling Green. PDG helped The Cocoon obtain an appropriation in the Ohio Capital Budget to fund pre-development activities to apply for capital funding through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency for relocation/expansion of the shelter. A preliminary building/site design and cost estimate was developed to apply for the funding. An application for funding was submitted, but not awarded. Subsequently, PDG worked with more... 3 Emergency Shelter Relocation/Expansion The Cocoon to obtain a second appropriation in the Ohio Capital Budget. Eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) has been appropriated for renovation of the former restaurant and Elks facility for an expanded emergency shelter. PDG was engaged by The Cocoon to provide architectural and engineering design and construction administration for renovation of the building for an emergency shelter and administrative and client services offices. Site improvements to enhance security were also designed as part of the project. The first phase of the project, the emergency shelter, is completed. Phase I of the project - Emergency Shelter - was completed on time and on budget. was critical because the lease for the former emergency shelter expired in May, Open House was held for the new emergency shelter April 30, through May 7, The second phase, administrative and client services offices, is pending until additional funding is obtained. PDG is assisting The Cocoon with additional funding applications. The Cocoon is currently conducting a capital funding campaign. Funding for site improvements was obtained by The Cocoon from the Attorney General s Victims of Crime Assistance (VOCA) Funds. A new security fence has been installed, as well as exterior lighting and security cameras. Funding for interior fire protection has also been approved.

PDG is developed and provided the design and preparation of contract drawings and special provisions for streetscape improvements on 1 st Street between Boulder Avenue and Hoover Avenue. Design services in this historic area of Las Vegas include topographic surveying, potholing, asphalt pavement, curb, gutter, sidewalk, signage, striping, lighting, landscaping, irrigation, and water facility design. 5 Location Toledo, Ohio Services Provided Engineering Professional Services 2009 Richard R. Hertzfeld, P.E. Project Manager CAMPUS MASTER PLAN Owens State Community College PDG was selected by Owens State Community College to provide an overall master plan of all renovations needed in order for the College to improve the west side of its Toledo Campus and expand into the old Penta Vocational School site. The project involved detailed summaries and probable cost estimates for each renovation and participation at presentation and coordination meetings. PDG also helped establish a priority list for improvements. The plan addressed objectives to unify the campus, create a central gathering space, address traffic and parking issues, and introduce new pedestrian-friendly, green campus beautification elements into the design. The project involved: Schematic layouts for new and existing parking lots Investigation into a potential pedestrian bridge over existing railroad tracks Traffic study and engineering review of traffic conditions Design of new green pedestrian plazas New and modified parking layouts Identification of structures for demolition Identification of storm drainage issues Identification and coordination with or relocation of existing utilities Campus Master Plan
