1 Waco Independent School District Criteria for House Bill 5: Evaluation of Performance in Community & Student Engagement The following documents provides details and instructions on how the House Bill 5 (HB5) Criteria for evaluation of performance in community and student engagement were derived, and how this spreadsheet will be used to document and rate each campus based on standard criteria set. Criteria for this evaluation tool was developed by a committee composed of District Administration, District Employees, Parents, and Community Members and adopted for the 5-6 school year. Based on the criteria, each campus will score itself on factors through 8 using the worksheets that follow. Each rating has a corresponding point value as shown in Figure below. These point values are then added together for an overal total of 8-. The campus will also rate itself and receive a Yes or No for the Compliance and Reporting category based on the attached worksheet. Detailed instructions on completing the Compliance and Reporting category rating will follow below. A Yes for compliance must be achieved to receive an or rating. Using these two values, an overall rating will be determined for the campus based on Figure below. Directions. To begin this worksheet, find the "HB5 Planning Document" worksheet tab found at the bottom of the screen.. To complete this worksheet, fill in the Campus Name, Name(s) of Person(s) completing the form, and a projected number of events to be held in each category. 2 **For a list a sample categories or events that could count towards each goal, see the final worksheet tile "Categories and Factors" Once you have completed this information, the information will be auto-populated into the remaining worksheets. The goals set for the projected number of events will be utilized in the scoring to determine the campus rating for each factor.. To score each program/event under each factor you will utilize the scoring rubrics provided within the.pdf document that also contained these instructions. Print the scoring rubrics for your HB5 notebook for ease of use. Select the print option (ctrl +p).. Once you have printed the scoring rubrics, you can begin entering your programs/events on the appropriate worksheets listed at the bottom of the workbook. 5. To enter a program/event, type the event title into the cell provided. 6. Select a criteria from the drop down menu. If none match, you can leave the selection blank. 3 7. To find the rating, place the appropriate scoring in the provided cells based on the criteria provided in the scoring rubric for that factor. The values are -, -, -, -, and - N/A. You can type the value or select it from the dropdown menu. **Any value type that does not match one of the above listed values will generate an error message. 8. Once the values have been entered, the "Rating" column will automatically display a value for the event. 9. Once all events for a factor have been added to the worksheet, and overall rating will be generated for the campus in that factor.. To complete the Compliance and Reporting factor, select the worksheet titled "HB5.Policy & Compliance Reporting" at the bottom of the workbook. Waco ISD District and Campus Accountability revised //5
4 . For each criteria listed, place a "" in the column if you have met the criteria on your campus. If you did not complete all aspects of the criteria, simply leave the column blank. The overall rating will be automatically generated based on the number of criteria completed.. Once all events have been completed on all 8 factors, and the Compliance and Reporting worksheet has been completed, a final report will be generated on the "Campus Final Report" worksheet. 5 . To print the final report, selecte the "Campus Final Report" worksheet at the bottom of the workbook. Select print (ctrl + p). **Be sure only "Print Active Sheets" is selected.
