5 Hard Facts of the DSM 2017 To date, the DSM startups collected almost 2.1 billion in external capital and additionally plan to raise almost 1 billion in the next twelve months. For the third year in a row, the percentage of female startup founders has again increased to now 14.6%. 82.7% of the startups are planning (further) internationalization, mostly in Europe, North America, and Asia Almost one third of all startup employees come from foreign (EU) countries. Moreover, 63.9% (fully) agree that the German startup landscape will benefit from the immigration of people from abroad. On average, DSM startups employ 13.2 employees (incl.
