2 GRANT OFFERED BY THE JEUNES MÉCÈNES POUR LES ARTS OVERVIEW A group of young professionals have joined with the Conseil des arts de Montréal (CAM) to launch a philanthropic project that provides financial support to Montreal artists, thereby fostering their development and raising their public profile. In line with the venture capital model, the Jeunes mécènes pour les arts will invest in high-potential, groundbreaking projects that contribute to the city s artistic vitality. The Jeunes mécènes pour les arts are men and women under the age of 40, primarily from the Montreal business community. They have each agreed to make a private donation towards three (3) annual grants awarded to a Montreal artist, artist collective or artistic organization. Applicants are evaluated according to criteria established in conjunction with the Conseil des arts de Montréal. The Conseil des arts de Montréal receives the applications and manages the grant program. It shares its expertise in assessing artistic projects and awarding grants based on artistic merit.
