Actions and recommendations flow from the County level to the Regional Board and on up to WACOG's Executive Board, of which Bullhead City is a member and Mayor Brady is the current appointed representative. The primary purpose of the Mohave County (MCAC) is to stimulate, promote, and develop human, natural, social, and economic resources to their fullest potential in Mohave County. The structure consists of one-third membership which must be elected officials or their designated representative. At this time the MCAC has a vacancy from Bullhead City in the Elected Official category. W ACOG has requested the city's assistance in filling this vacancy. Generally the MCAC meetings are held quarterly on the second Tuesday ofthe months of September, November, March and June from 10:00 a.m. to noon and rotate among locations in Lake Havasu City, Kingman, and Bullhead City. As elected officials, you have the option of appointing a member of the Bullhead City Council or a representative designated by the City Manager to serve on the Mohave County. 3 Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) is a voluntary association of local governments originally established in t is a governmental non-profit dedicated to serving its member entities, income challenged households and vulnerable populations. WACOG is sponsored by every incorporated city or town in Yuma, La Paz and Mohave counties. WACOG's executive board is made up of sixteen local elected official representing those entities. WACOG is an umbrella organization with three primary departments: The Community Action Agency (CAA), The Head Start provider, and The Area Agency on Aging (AAA). Other functions of the organization are: To provide transportation planning in conjunction with ADOT, economic development in partnership with cities and municipalities and Social Service and Community Development planning. WACOG works on a broad range of issues and programs including: Community Development Block Grand (CDBG), Head Start, Health, Low-ncoming Home Energy Assistance (LHEAP) Nutrition Services for Older Americans, Social Service Block Grand (SSBG), Transit and Transportation, Tax and ncome Policies, Weatherization Assistance and Welfare Reform.

Actions and Recommendations flow from the County level to the Regional Board and on up to WACOGs Executive Board, of which the City of Bullhead is a member and Mayor B! ady, the current appointed representative. The primary purpose of the Mohave County is to stimulate, promote, and develop human, natmal, social and economic resources to their fullest potential in Mohave County. An example of this is that, the MCAC delermines the Service ntents and Service fund allocations for the locally planned Social Service Block Grant Funding (Titie XX) for the department of Economic Security. This provides for a determination to be made at the local!eve! for loud priorities. The MCAC is comprised of a tripartite structure that is designed to ensure participation in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the programs that serve low-income i!1dividuals and communities. The nipanite structure consists of one-third membership which must be elected officials o:r il!err desigm1ted represell!r:rtive, one-thid membership must be from private business or community groups and one-third low income representatives. At this ti ne the MCAC has a vacancy from the City of Bullhead in the Elected Official category. WACOG is asking for your assistance in filling the Elected Official vacancy. Generally the meetings are held quarterly on the 2nd Tuesday of the months of September, November, March and June, from loam to!2:00pm. Sectors may include but are not limited to; Business, industry, labor, religious, law enforce~ ment, education and other groups of interest in the community served. Low~ ncome pel($ons or their rep:res~ntatives The implicit intent is to insure that those vvho currently live in areas served by the agency are represented so that they have a strong voice in agency governance and direction and are Eoble to convey to those they represent the presence and significance of Community Action in their lives. Members should be selected by some form of democratic process such as being selected to other groups requiring/having low income representation. Examples are members who serve on Head Start Policy Councils, School PTA's, Faith based leadership groups or those that serve on advisory/governing boards for another low income providers. Elected Officials Elected official representation on the 11CAC is made through appointment by the municipalities within the County. Town/City/County Boards/Councils, may appoint from its mer.nbers an elected official or non-elected official to represent that municipality on the MCAC.
