4 Description of Eligibility Criteria SMK (P) Pudu Applicants for full-time academic programmes of HELP CAT are given a 50% tuition fee waiver for Year 1 only. Students shall be charged full-tuition fees in the remaining years of study in an undergraduate programme. HELP-Chinese Independent Schools This scholarship is open to all Chinese Independent Secondary School Senior Middle 3 students who have sat for their Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) in The HELP - Chinese Independent Schools (CIS) fee waiver is offered in recognition of the invaluable contribution of CIS towards human capital development in the country, and in celebration of the close working relationship between the CIS and the HELP Group of institutions. Scholarship Award 30% Year 1 tuition fee waiver for all undergraduate and diploma programmes offered by HELP University/HELP College of Arts and Technology/HELP Academy 20% tuition fee waiver for continuing Year 2 & Year 3 students (where applicable) on condition that they attained a minimum CGPA of 2.50 in the preceding year Terms and Conditions This scholarship is opened to CIS students sitting for exams in 2017 for admission to HELP in the 2018 academic year The scholarship shall be reviewed yearly; attainment of a minimum CGPA of 2.50 (or equivalent) is required to be eligible for continuation of the scholarship in the following year Applicants must fulfill the specific entry requirements of the programme applied for Applicants may apply for the scholarship based on the school s trial examination results, and the scholarship will be confirmed when the actual UEC examination results are released Sports Excellence The above financial aid is awarded to registered students who have excelled in sports and have represented the state or country in competitions. Value 50% waiver in tuition fee for State athletes 75% waiver in tuition fee for National athletes Eligibility Full-time Malaysian students in HELP CAT who are state or national sports personalities two years before joining the College Sport/s excelled in should be affiliated with the Olympic Council Malaysia Verification of student status as sports personalities is done by the National or State Sports Association HELP-MIC Scholarship The HELP-MIC Scholarship is a collaborative initiative between the HELP Group and the Higher Education Bureau of the MIC National Youth that provides deserving Indian youths in Malaysia opportunities for higher education. The scholarship is awarded fully or partially and covers tuition fees depending on the course applied for and qualifications of the applicants. 5

5 Terms and Conditions A. General The scholarships and financial aid offered is strictly for full-time registered students at HELP CAT. Applicants must make full payment of application and administration/registration fees. For new students, the administration/registration fee will be refunded if the application is not successful Scholarships and financial aid awarded is provided in the form of tuition fee waiver The scholarships/financial aid does not include fees for referral subjects, repeated subjects, examination fees, franchise fees and any English language course that is not part of your main programme, Matapelajaran Umum (MPU) subjects, and distance education fees, where applicable It is to be noted that scholarships/financial aid awarded is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash Students receiving scholarships/financial aid from other bodies or institutions are not eligible to apply for the awards of HELP CAT Scholarships/financial aid is normally available to Malaysians only The award of scholarships/financial aid requires recipients to meet entry requirements of the programmes Applicants may accept only one scholarship/financial aid at any one time The final decision to grant a scholarship/financial aid is at the sole discretion of the Scholarship Committee of HELP CAT The Terms and Conditions for the HELP CAT scholarships and financial aid are correct at the time of printing and may be modified or amended from time to time as deemed reasonable and appropriate by HELP CAT HELP CAT reserves the right to involve the scholarship/financial aid recipients in interviews, advertisements or other publicityrelated activities for the purpose of promoting the institution. B. Diploma The scholarship / financial aid commences in Semester 1. Applicants must make full payment of fees prior to receiving the award. Recipients must maintain a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 or 3.50 out of 4.00 to continue receiving the scholarship for the duration of the scholarship / financial aid. C. Degree The scholarship / financial aid will be implemented from the Semester 1 of the programme. Applicants must make full payment of fees prior to receiving the award. Scholarships are normally for the duration of the programme As part of the criteria to continue receiving the award, the student has to fulfill the attainment of cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.50 Decision on the continuation of the scholarship is at the sole discretion of the Head of Centre of the respective programme and the Scholarship Committee D. Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) First Class Honours accounting graduates from the HELP Group are awarded 70% scholarship and non HELP Group are awarded on course fees to pursue the professional papers in the ACCA programme for a duration of up to one year for full-time students and two years for part-time students; subject to their maintaining an average of 65% every semester. Students who achieve an average of 80% and above in CAT are awarded a 70% scholarship for the Skills Module course fees when they continue with the ACCA programme at HELP CAT. Availability is up to one year, subject to their maintaining an average mark of 70% every semester Students who achieve an average of 70% and above in CAT are awarded a scholarship for the Skills Module course fees when they continue with the ACCA programme at HELP CAT. Availability is up to one year, subject to their maintaining an average mark of 70% every semester ACCA students moving from the Skills to the Professional level who achieve an average of 75% and above in their Skills Module are awarded 70% scholarship for course fees in the Professional Level for up to two years, subject to their maintaining an average of 65% every semester ACCA students moving from the Skills to the Professional level who achieve an average of 65% and above in their Skills Module are awarded scholarship for course fees in the Professional Level for up to two years, subject to their maintaining an average of 65% every semester. A Top World Prize Winner is awarded RM2,000 as cash award. Malaysian Prize Winners are awarded RM1,000 as cash award. A World Prize Winner is only eligible to receive the higher amount of cash award as a World Prize Winner is also a Malaysia Prize Winner For CAT and ACCA students, please refer to the Supplementary Scholarship Terms and Conditions of the Centre. Note: Applications should be submitted to the Academic Centre two weeks following release of actual results or two weeks after commencement date of semester, whichever is earlier.
