2 OBJECTIVES 1. DESCRIBE OFFICE OF CIVILIAN VOLUNTEER MEDICAL RESERVE CORPS.(OVCMRC)PLAN 2. DEFINE THE MRC MISSION 3. DISCUSS HISTORY OF MRC 4. DESCRIBE ILLINOIS MRC s 5. the participant will learn the history and purpose of Illinois Help; Federally known as Emergency System for Advance Registration for Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR-VHP). 6. The participant will learn what volunteer organizations Illinois Helps collaborates with in order to have a prepared volunteer to assist during the next state wide November disaster.

5 OCVMRC STRATEGIC PLAN The OCVMRC Strategic Plan represents the direction of the Office of Civilian Volunteer Medical Reserve Corps (OCVMRC) for the years November
6 The following health care professionals are encouraged to register with Medical Reserve Corps MRC volunteers include medical and public health professionals such as physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians, and epidemiologists. Many community members interpreters, chaplains, office workers, legal advisors, and others can fill key support positions. November

8 OVERVIEW MRC volunteers can choose to support communities in need nationwide. Training The DCVMRC asks that volunteers be trained on 4 core competencies: IS 700 IS 100 Psychological First Aid Family Preparedness November
9 MRC INFO There are a total of 980 units and 208,6480 volunteers in U.S. There are 73 units and 6631 volunteers in Illinois. November
10 MRCIL Medical Reserve Corps of Illinois (MRCIL) -Volunteers Uniting for Better Prepared Communities- The Medical Reserve Corps of Illinois (MRCIL) was formed in 2004 as a means of sharing information between units in Illinois. Since that time our coalition has grown significantly with the addition of many more units, 73 in all. The objective of MRCIL is to bring together all of the established MRC units in the state to work together and to share valuable information on Medical Reserve Corps activities and events. To coordinate the efforts of its members to protect the lives and property in their respected area. November
11 Tri-County Medical Reserve Corps The Tri-County Medical Reserve Corps represents Henderson, Mercer and Warren Counties. Tri-County MRC was formed in Volunteers are provided ongoing emergency/disaster training and emergency supplies including PPE, first aid kit, MRC t-shirt, badge and hand crank radio/flashlight.
