Headquartered in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Rocky Mountain EMS is a private company specializing in long distance, high acuity medical transports as well as serving the prehospital needs in the City of Las Vegas & San Miguel County. Our paramedics and EMTs function under aggressive protocols, a broad scope of practice and with a great deal of autonomy. In addition, most transports are greater than one hour long and may include: Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, ventilators, invasive monitoring and often multiple medication drips. Thus the caregivers are constantly challenged; much is expected of them. In return, the rewards are great and training opportunities are plentiful. 2 Basic & Intermediate Level: NM License BLS CPR certification Paramedic Level: NM License National Registry Certification BLS CPR, ACLS & PALS Certification RUNNING BEAR RESCUE, Inc or 888-RMEMSSF ( ) EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS Critical Care Paramedic or Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic Level: NM License National Registry Certificate Current CCP or MICP Certificate Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS CPR cards(aha or ARC) *It is expected that paramedics will complete a PHTLS and NRP course within their first year at RMEMS. The following documents are required for all levels: Criminal background report Applicants can retrieve a copy at a local law enforcement office. No convictions for felony, violence, sex offense, narcotics violation, property crime, or fraud etc. No repeat offenses of any kind. Driving Record Applicants must provide a current copy of MVD driving record. Must be free of any moving violations, at fault accidents, recklessness, DUI etc.
3 or 888-RMEMSSF ( ) EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS (Continued) Immunization Record Must include the following immunization history: Medical Allergies Completion of Hepatitis B Series Date and Result of Hepatitis Titer Tetanus (within the last ten years) Tuberculine (within the last year) MMR series (2 lifetime injections) Influenza (optional) Employment Background Authorization Applicants must authorize inquiry and disclosures. Previous employers, co-workers, and employment references. Drug Screen Applicants must submit to a preliminary and periodic random drug testing after hire. Physical Exam A USDOT Motor Carrier Medical Exam is provided for new hires. A passing physical will be placed on file with RMEMS.
4 or 888-RMEMSSF ( ) PRE-EMPLOYMENT TESTING If your application is favorably evaluated, you will be invited to Santa Fe for a day of on-site testing. Testing will be composed of the following five components: Written Test: You will have three hours to complete a written test. Your test will be scored from 100 possible points. Minimum score to continue is 85%. Lifting Test: Applicants, with a partner will use correct lifting techniques to lift a manikin or person weighing less than 200 pounds onto a gurney. Understanding that safety is our utmost priority, demonstrate the correct lifting of a Stryker Rugged Gurney into and out of an ambulance. This will be done both empty and with a person weighing less than 200 pounds. Scenarios: Applicants will be given three scenarios in which he/she will verbalize their diagnosis and treatments. Fitness Test: Applicants must walk 100 yards at a fast pace within three minutes, carrying a first-in pack and a life pack. Interview: Upon successful completion of the above test, applicants will sit for a two panel interview process. If passed, applicants will be placed into an eligible for hire status. This does not imply any agreement or commitment by RMEMS to make an offer of employment, but merely acknowledges that the applicant is qualified and eligible. A DOT Physical will be provided and must be successfully passed upon hiring.

I agree to hold harmless any provider of requested information, knowing that the provided information may be unfavorable and render me ineligible for further consideration. Neither the provider of the requested information for Rocky Mountain EMS has any obligation to confirm the accuracy of the information. The results and interpretation of my background investigation are confidential. I agree that any decision to disqualify me from further consideration is at the discretion of Rocky Mountain EMS, and I waive any right of recourse.
