4 INTRODUCTION Axia Companies is owned and operated by two highly qualified and motivated individuals who both have significant development and construction experience throughout the United States. Jeff Schaumann, President Axia Development Brett Rossell, President Axia Contracting Axia Companies specializes in general contracting services and the production of multifamily, student housing, hospitality and senior housing. With extensive background experience in construction and development and a vast knowledge base of the real estate industry, Axia Companies is known for its many successful construction and development projects throughout the United States. ABOUT US The word AXIA is derived from the Greek word meaning Worth and / or Value. At Axia Companies, our knowledge and expertise is key to bringing and adding value to our customer s projects. We not only understand how to build your project, we also understand that the purpose of the project is to build our customer s net worth. With offices in North Dakota and Texas, our experienced team works collaboratively with owners to fully understand their specific needs and goals. We provide solutions to fit those needs and strive to work closely with each owner to achieve their goals. 5 AXIA CONTRACTING: Axia Contracting operates as the General Contracting division. Our staff has extensive experience managing and building multifamily and commercial projects in challenging environments. Multifamily, student housing, hospitality, senior housing, office and various forms of commercial projects are all within the Axia scope of experience. Axia is nimble and flexible as to geographic reach. We have built extensively in most areas from the Mississippi River west to the Rocky Mountains. We currently have active projects in Texas, Colorado, California, Missouri, Minnesota, and North Dakota. Our customers have come to know, respect and trust our team. As hands-on owners, we are committed to serving not only the immediate needs of our customers, but also to developing long-term, strategic relationships as the core of our business. Our expertise and experience provides our customers with the resources needed to complete each and every project successfully. AXIA DEVELOPMENT: Axia Development operates in several capacities. As a developer, advisor, sponsor and investor, we bring years of experience and in-depth knowledge to the development and construction processes. As the Lead, Axia Development is responsible for development projects ranging from $1 million to $50 million. We understand how to manage projects of any size and we also understand that regardless of the size, each project is important to the overall success of our partners. From site selection, due diligence, entitlements, construction, completion, delivery, and sale, we understand the complexities and nuances of market dynamics. The professional experience, expertise and knowledge of our team are paramount to our company s success. With this knowledge base, Axia Development is able to align with joint venture partners to match the demands and needs of each and every project. Duties included land selection and procurement, site planning and entitlements, improvement oversight and sales. Annual volume of sales grew from $1M annually to over $100M annually during the term of employment Diversified company operations from a solely merchant-based business to a business focused on establishing long-term joint venture partnerships and project sponsorship, thus leveraging market knowledge and expertise Led the formation of Bakken Contracting in 2012, and for ongoing business development and contract negotiation / administration for all Bakken Contracting projects. During its first 3 years of operation, grew company revenues to $160M annually Managed projects through the entire life-cycle of projects including: contracting and construction oversight, leasing and sales Supervised all staff and led acquisition and construction for all RDO Equipment facilities throughout a 10-state region, with approximately 10 projects managed annually, totaling an estimated value of $30M CITY OF MOORHEAD, MN - PLANNING DIRECTOR Provided strategic planning and code development for a growing city of 35,000, including the development of a new comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance. 8 Chad Westrick AXIA CONTRACTING - OPERATIONS MANAGER Manage day-to-day operations of multiple construction sites Oversee bidding and contract procurement of all materials and labor trades Daily coordination with on-site field staff to schedule manpower and material deliveries for each project BAKKEN CONTRACTING - PROJECT MANAGER Work with multiple land development companies on residential and multi-family housing projects locally and in western ND Involved with over 1200 multi-family units during this time Coordinate on site construction meetings with owner/lender representatives on a monthly basis for pay application approvals Daily coordination with on-site field staff to schedule manpower and material deliveries for each project TMI HOSPITALITY - DIRECTOR OF NEW CONSTRUCTION Coordinate & schedule building plan review with Architect/Engineers Establish budgets, schedules, and scope of work for projects Compare and analyze bid proposals, negotiate and award contracts Coordinate daily construction activities with on-site superintendents Performed site inspections to insure project schedules Schedule and perform final walk thru with inspectors and building Officials to obtain final Certificate of Occupancy Completed multiple projects ranging from $10 to $30 million dollars Work with Regional Maintenance Engineers and General Manager to complete hotel maintenance projects for over 360 hotels Estimate projects, obtain subcontractor quotes, and assign contractors Manage all scheduling, job costs, and inspections of assigned projects *First year completed over $4 million in hotel renovations and repairs Page 8
9 John Hilz Vice President, Business Development and Marketing John brings to the Axia family of companies more than 35 years of experience and knowledge of the construction, construction services, and business development industry. John is well versed in multifamily, student housing, senior housing and hospitality. John is responsible for the introduction of the Axia family of companies to the real estate and development communities in Texas, the Southwest and Southeast. John is a native Texan and holds a BS degree in both Business Administration and Science from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. He also holds a state of Texas Real Estate Broker s License. John has been on both sides as an owner and developer. Ryan Jenson Project Manager Located in Axia s Fargo office, Ryan is responsible for overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion. This includes estimating, developing project budgets and schedules, subcontractor negotiations and contracting, coordinating with on-site project superintendents, and ensuring the use of quality construction standards and proper techniques to complete projects on schedule, budget and with high quality. Ryan has experience working on multi-family and light commercial projects throughout North Dakota and Texas. He studied at North Dakota State University, where he acquired his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration. Page 9

13 EXPERIENCE Over the past twenty years our principals of Axia Companies have managed construction and development projects totaling in excess of $3.2 billion in 35 states throughout the United States. PAST PROJECTS MULTI-FAMILY Over the past five years, our principals have completed more than 4,000 multi-family residential units for a combined construction value of approximately $400,000,000. STUDENT HOUSING Since Axia s formation in 2015, our principals have undertaken and completed more than 660 units of student housing projects for a combined construction value of approximately $65,000,000. HOSPITALITY The principals at Axia have combined experience of more than 450 separate hospitality projects throughout the United States, totaling in excess of 28,000 keys and across 20 different franchise flags. OFFICE, RETAIL, COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL The combined experience of our principals consists of approximately 450,000 square feet of various commercial and industrial product types, across 7 states and with a cumulative construction value of $60,000,000.
