6 LEADERSHIP Umar Farooq International attorney Umar Farooq advises clients on corporate and financial matters including joint ventures, investment and acquisitions in the MENA region and conventional and Islamic finance. He provided extensive legal services to Aljazeera Network and previously was head of Legal of Al Rayan Investment in Doha, Qatar. In the US, he worked for a public interest NGO with a focus on Congressional and federal agencies and for the international law firm Dentons. Before launching his legal career, he worked as a journalist with CNN and AP and as a public relations specialist for Weber Shandwick Worldwide. S. Qaisar Shareef Former Marketing Director, Global Operations for P&G, Mr. Shareef worked in the United States, Asia and Europe. For 12 years, he spearheaded P&G s business enterprises in Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. During his tenure, yearly sales rose to $750 million and his unit received the US State Department s Award for Corporate Excellence. He regularly consults on marketing and business strategy. Farooq Cheema Mr. Cheema is an entrepreneur and investor with a background in healthcare, education and business software. A former managing director of a healthcare company, he is currently CEO of Study Sparkz, an educational concern. With an MBA and degree in electrical engineering, he holds four US patents, develops business services software and is a strategic investor in healthcare and educational companies.
