Secretary and Director of Operations, Cherylan Shearer, reported on two administrative topics to be placed on the Consent Calendar. The first administrative topic related to Board Dispute Resolution and Bullying Procedures. Vice President and Director of Membership, Yvonne DeAntoneo, moved to place the administrative topic relating to Board Dispute Resolution and Bullying Procedures on the Consent Calendar. The Board unanimously approved the administrative topic relating to Board Dispute Resolution and Bullying Procedures on the Consent Calendar. RESOLVED, that administrative topic relating to Board Dispute Resolution and Bullying Procedures is placed on the Consent Calendar as approved. The second administrative topic related to Adding Association Regulation Coordinators to the Leadership Directory. Vice President and Director of Membership, Yvonne DeAntoneo, moved to place the administrative topic relating to Adding Association Regulation Coordinators to the Leadership Directory on the Consent Calendar. Open Forum Secretary and Director of Operations, Cherylan Shearer, reported that there are 47 NFPA associations; 40 associations are credentialed - quorum is ¾ of 47, which equals 35. We have a quorum to hold the 2016 Annual Convention. Secretary and Director of Operations, Cherylan Shearer, reported that the 2017 Convention will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the Astor Crowne Plaza October 12-15, 2017, and their slogan is Mardi Gras in October. Secretary and Director of Operations, Cherylan Shearer, reported that the 2018 Convention will be held in Seattle, Washington at the Hilton Seattle Airport, October 25-28, 2018, and their slogan is Paralegals Shine in the Emerald City. Secretary and Director of Operations, Cherylan Shearer, reported that the 2019 Convention will be held in Rochester, New York at the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside, October 10-13, 2019, and their slogan is Continued Focus on Legal Rights. Secretary and Director of Operations, Cherylan Shearer, introduced Amy Conrad from the Minnesota Paralegal Association. The Minnesota Paralegal Association gave a presentation on the proposal to host the 2020 Annual Convention. Secretary and

The Board unanimously approved the Minnesota Paralegal Association to hold the 2020 Annual Convention. RESOLVED, that the Minnesota Paralegal Association will host the 2020 Annual Convention. Vice President and Director of Marketing, Lisa Lynch, CRP, reported that metrics can be used to determine how many actually view News You Can Use and the hyperlinks contained therein; NFPA currently has 7,115 subscriptions for the National Paralegal Reporter; requests for proposals for a new printing company were sent and two proposals have been received; the e-newsletter will become a blog on the website; video testimonials have been received and will be available on the NFPA media outlets; and discussed the need for a social media coordinator including the responsibilities for the new coordinator. Vice President and Director of Marketing, Lisa Lynch, CRP, moved to approve the creation of a social media coordinator. The Board unanimously approved the creation of a social media coordinator. RESOLVED, that the creation of a Social Media Coordinator is approved. Vice President and Director of Marketing, Lisa Lynch, CRP, also reported that they are always working to secure corporate partners. Vice President and Director of Membership, Yvonne DeAntoneo, reported that the current membership numbers consist of 7,057 association members; 121 individual members; 24 student members; 5 military members; and 11 organization members for a total membership of 7,218 members. Vice President and Director of Membership, Yvonne DeAntoneo, reported that approximately 42 individuals are registered for the First Timer s Meeting. She also reported that she will be working the 2017 Joint Conference, increasing membership growth, holding quarterly association conference calls, and working on member-only association webinars. Treasurer and Director of Finance, MaryAnn Ivie, RP, reported that that the June and July 2016 financials have been posted and that all associations are current on their dues. She also reported that the 3 rd quarter Dues Notice has been sent to the associations and treasurers, and we have money sitting in a reserve account for a PCCE web scholarship. Vice President and Director of Paralegal Certification, Nita Serrano, RP, reported that Region II has made a donation to NFPA and the funds will be used for a PCCE web scholarship; she will be working with Vice President and Director of Profession Development, Allen Mihecoby, CLAS, RP, and Region II Director, Mianne L. Besser, to develop procedures for the ear-marked funds. She also reported that she is continuing to reach out to schools regarding the Assurance of Learning Program; working on the
6 PACE update with the goal to have a brand new PACE exam in place by next year; finalizing a call for the job task force; continuing to work with Prometric on the PCCE exam and updating it; and that API and PEG each allowed 10 JAG paralegals to take their study classes. Vice President and Director of Paralegal Certification, Nita Serrano, RP, reported that the 2017 Joint Conference will be held April 28-30, 2017 in New York City at the law officers of Duane Morris. She also reported that the deadline to submit bids for the 2018 Joint Conference is November 15 and the Board will approve the location at the Winter Board Meeting. Vice President and Director of Profession Development, Allen Mihecoby, CLAS, RP, reported that he is looking at holding the 2017 Pro Bono Conference in connection with the 2017 Joint Conference in New York City. He also reported that he has in place CLE Co-Coordinators who will be reviewing all CLE applications including the local associations CLE s submitted for approval. The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 pm. EST.
