Yee, Don Nottoli The Board meets simultaneously as the Board of Supervisors and as the governing board of all special districts having business heard this date, in accordance with Resolution Nos , , , and The Board of Supervisors welcomes and encourages participation in the Board meetings. When it appears there are several members of the public wishing to address the Board on a specific item, at the outset of the item the Chair of the Board will announce the maximum amount of time that will be allowed for presentation of testimony. Matters under the jurisdiction of the Board and not on the posted agenda may be addressed by the general public following completion of the regular agenda and any off agenda matters before the board for consideration. The Board limits testimony on matters not on the agenda to five minutes per person and not more than fifteen minutes for a particular subject. 20 FIRST 5 SACRAMENTO COMMISSION The purpose of this commission is to implement the goals and objectives of the California Children and Families First Act of 1998 and to administer monies in Sacramento County Children and Families First Trust Fund. This commission shall develop and administer local strategic plans that promote an integrated and comprehensive system of services to children from the prenatal stage through age five and their families. The plan may address the following: parental education and support services; availability and provision of high quality accessible and affordable child care; child health care programs emphasizing prevention and diagnostic screenings; and prenatal and postnatal maternal health care services. Qualifications - The Board of Supervisors shall appoint members of the Commission from among recipients of project services included in the County strategic plan; educators specializing in early childhood development; representatives of local child care resource or referral agencies; representatives of a local organization for prevention or early intervention for families at risk; representatives of community-based organizations with the purposes of promoting and nurturing early childhood development; representatives of local school districts; and, representatives of local medical, pediatric or obstetric associations or societies. Any member appointed to the Commission shall reside or work in Sacramento County at the time of appointment and for the duration of his/her term. Alternates shall meet the same criteria and qualifications as members appointed to the Commission. There is ONE seat to be filled due to the resignation of alternate community member representative A. Arevalo (term expires 7/30/13). Application filing period will be from 12/10/12 to 1/4/13 and will be considered by the Board of Supervisors on 1/8/13. 21 SACRAMENTO COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH BOARD The purpose of this board is to review and evaluate the community's mental health needs, services, facilities and special problems. There is ONE seat to be filled due to the resignation of public interest representative L. Napper (District 1 nomination term expires 12/31/15).
