Mission Dscription and Budgt Itm Justification: Th is a fixd wing, rotary wing, and Unmannd Arial Vhicl (UAV) launchd missil systm that provids advancd lin-of-sight (LOS) and byond-lin-of-sight (BLOS) capabilitis, including prcision point targting (both activ and passiv) and firand-forgt skr tchnologis; incrasd rang; and incrasd lthality against soft and hardnd moving and stationary targts. Sinc trmination of th JAGM program's prdcssor, Joint Common Missil (JCM), th Dpartmnt of th Army and th Dpartmnt of th Navy hav continud maturation of ky missil tchnologis. Maturation and prsrvation of ths tchnologis will continu through FY07 using FY05 carryovr funding and th FY06/07 Congrssional funding. Prototyp hardwar of ky critical tchnologis will b flight tstd in both guidd and unguidd missil launchs. Flight tsting of an intgratd all-up round will dmonstrat an insnsitiv munitions (IM) rockt motor, incrasd rang, fixd wing (FW) nvironmnt compatibility, tri-mod skr and guidanc control group, and composit structur tchnology in an oprationally rprsntativ nvironmnt, and transitioning th systm Tchnology Radinss Lvl (TRL) to svn. Ths tchnologis hav broad applications to othr wapon systms and srvics. Th program will additionally dmonstrat a multipurpos warhad with incrasd lthality across both th convntional and othr-than-armor targt st, whil minimizing collatral damag. Th JAGM will rplac aviation-launchd TOW, th HELLFIRE family of missils, and th Navy's Mavrick family of missils. JAGM will b a joint program with th Army, Navy and USMC, and a cooprativ dvlopmntal ffort with th UK that addrsss rotary/fixd wing and UAV rquirmnts. Thrshold platforms includ th Apach (AH- 64D), th Supr Hornt (F/A-18E/F), th Sahawk (MH-60R), and Supr Cobra (AH-1Z). Two Army objctiv platforms, th Armd Rconnaissanc Hlicoptr (ARH) and th Warrior Unmannd Aircraft Systm (UAS) will b intgratd as part of th Systm Dvlopmnt and Dmonstration (SDD) ffort. Th JAGM will incras th warfightrs' oprational flxibility by ffctivly ngaging a varity of stationary and mobil targts on th battlfild, including advancd havy/light armord vhicls, bunkrs, buildings, patrol craft, command and control vhicls, transportr/rctor (.g., SCUD) launchrs, artillry systms, and radar/air dfns systms. Its multi-mod skr will provid robust capability in advrs wathr, day or night, and in an obscurd/countrmasur nvironmnt, against both stationary and moving targts. JAGM supports mor fficint logistics for xpditionary forc tailoring by rplacing svral missil variants with a singl, introprabl wapon. Th warhad is dsignd for high prformanc against both armord and non-armord targts. It also allows flxibility in th location of rsupply on th battlfild, thrby minimizing th logistic burdn of th combat forc. Th tchnologis that nabl ths dramatic incrass in warfightr capability ar bing maintaind and maturd in th FY 07 program. Th program will rstructur th xisting JCM contract currntly in plac with Lockhd Martin, to complt th scond phas of th original program's SDD ffort in 48 months culminating with a Milston C in 4QFY11.
