6 1. Introduction 1.1 Purpose of the OCD This document provides, in detail, the shared visions and goals of the stakeholders of the Swim Meet Sign Up for the Arcadia Riptides Swim Club. The success-critical stakeholders of the project are Davey Lam, as the project owner, maintainer and treasurer; the Head Coach and Parents, as users and development team who are building the project. 1.2 Status of the OCD The status of the OCD is currently at the As-Built version number 1.0 in the development phase. 1

IIV&Ver Jenny Greer USC - Validate the system functionality against the requirements 2.2 System Capability Description System s objective is to build a new website to facilitate swim meet signup. The target customers of the system are Head Coach and Parents of kids in Arcadia Swim Club. System will automate the current process of kid signup. It will facilitate the entire sign up process by parents as well as report generation by head Coach. System will ensure that there are not any incorrect signups by parents. It will also generate reports currently created by head coach manually. Currently swimming association handles the process of signups and reporting manually. Head Coach has to deal with it himself and has to correct signup details as well create reports manually. 2

8 The system will eliminate all the manual work and in-turn will improve productivity of head coach and kids turn out. 2.3 Expected Benefits Benefits that are expected of this system are - The Head Coach will spend less time dealing with incorrect signups and creating reports; thus, increasing the productivity in other areas of work. Parents signup correctly: Parents can easily signup using the website as they can only see events there kid is eligible for. Mobile devices can also be used as website is mobile responsive. 10 3. System Transformation 3.1 Information on Current System Infrastructure Entire process of event signup and report generation is currently handled manually. Parent signup their kids via . Head Coach compiles the list and generates reports manually Artifacts Current Artifacts include 1) PDF by the swim meet association. 2) Manual Reports maintained by the head coach. 5

Parent: Parent has to the sign up details to head coach. Head Coach: Head Coach has to read all signup s from parents and compile information for each meet. Head Coach has to manually generate reports. Current system is a responsive web application that dynamically fetches data from MySQL database using PHP. Parents have to login to the system and sign up events, filtered on the basis of their kid s information. Head Coach can generate a summarized report with all the signed up events with a click of a button. Future Capabilities Automate the process of signup. Provide efficient system to reduce number of incorrect signups. Automated reporting functionality. Directly fetch the PDF document from the USA swimming association website. 8
