1 Regional trends and challenges in egovernment in the Western Balkans The presentation is meant to illustrate, the main challenges / problems, the innovative approaches of egovernment in the Western Balkans also highlighting what are the main obstacles to impose Citizens oriented public administration and new mechanisms of public service delivery and what are the main opportunities for such transformation. It has been inspired by the present situation not only in the Western Balkans but worldwide: Food, water and nutrition insecurity, Climate change, Energy crunch, Jobs pressure, Rapidly changing demographics (growth, migration, urbanization, ageing), Conflict and violence and Governance deficits at all levels. Western Balkan are undergoing the crisis in all the systems (economic, institutional, natural, etc), which has led to experience dramatic limitations of resources and a pressing need to proceed to contention of public expenditures and has also reduced the trust in the governments / PA Institutions. In this particularly difficult context, egovernment appears to be both a tool for interventions and also the place of interventions strengthening Good Public Sector in all its aspects. ReSPA with a great help of related public administration institutions, international and regional experts has identified an areas of improvement of the egovernment directly and indirectly influencing the whole PA system relying on ethics and integrity, new technologies and innovation, enhancement of human capital, raise awareness and participation of all stakeholders (PA, CSOs, Private sector, Academia, etc).
