1 Overview: 2018 Graduate Student Scholarship Application Overview The Alpha Zeta Foundation annually awards a select number of outstanding Alpha Zeta student members scholarships based on scholastic achievement, leadership abilities, AZ involvement, character, community service and financial need. Eligibility: Be an Alpha Zeta member in good standing and currently active in your Alpha Zeta chapter. Be enrolled as an undergraduate or a graduate student with at least one year (two semesters) remaining. If currently an undergraduate and pursing an advanced degree, you must provide proof of entrance into an agricultural or veterinary medicine program the following year. An Alpha Zeta member may only be awarded one scholarship per year and may receive a total of two Alpha Zeta Foundation scholarships/fellowship throughout their time with Alpha Zeta. At least four applicants will be selected to each receive one of the following scholarship awards: Burkett-Cunningham-Dennis Scholarship: $2,000 (eligibility limited to those who have been Alpha Zeta member for twelve months or longer) G.W. Roach Scholarship: $1,000 (eligibility limited to those who have been Alpha Zeta members for fewer than 12 months) Centennial Scholarship: $1,000 (eligibility limited to those who have been Alpha Zeta members for fewer than 12 months) Graduate Fellowship: $1,000 (eligibility limited to a graduate student or senior accepted into graduate school) Additional Alpha Zeta Foundation scholarships can be awarded if the committee feels like the candidates warrant and funding is available. Scholarship Application Checklist: Confirm you are completing the right application. This application is for those who are either currently in graduate school or who are seniors and have been accepted into graduate school for the following academic year. Confirm you are a member in good standing that has paid their dues to the National Office. Completed Scholarship Application ed to info@alphazeta.org by the deadline. College Transcript ed to info@alphazeta.org by the deadline. Resume or Curriculum Vita ed to info@alphazeta.org by the deadline. Two letters of recommendation required, up to three accepted. One letter of recommendation MUST be from an advisor or person familiar with your Alpha Zeta involvement:

Selection Criteria for Graduate Student Scholarship Applications: A committee from the Alpha Zeta Foundation will screen all qualifying continuing member applications based on criteria listed below: Leadership 40 Points Alpha Zeta offices held, committee work, other activities & plans for future involvement 20 points Campus, community or other participation & activities 10 points Work experience 10 points Character Goals and future plans Evaluation of recommendation letters Scholarship Grades & evaluation of subjects completed Honors received for scholarship Other Financial information and other information not listed above 30 Points 15 points 15 points 20 Points 15 points 5 points 10 Points Deadline: Applications and supporting documents must be postmarked or submitted via no later than February 1, 2018.

Please indicate your years of involvement in the organization, offices held, other positions of responsibility, and examples of involvement at local, regional, and/or national levels. Statement of Honors: Please list honors or other evidence of superior scholarship (i.e.: academic scholarships received, honorary societies, etc.).
