1 Dear RN Baccalaureate (RN-BS) Completion Program Applicant, Thank you for your interest in Minnesota State University Mankato! Please carefully read and follow the instructions to complete your application. We encourage you to save this letter so you may refer back to it upon submission of your application. Applicants will only be considered upon successful completion of the entire application process. This application is for a mid-spring semester start the program. Applicants for this admission will enroll in 8-week courses the second half of spring semester. Application to start the Fall Semester 2017 program has closed. This option is open to all qualified applicants, but may be an especially attractive option for Dec graduates who would not be qualified to start BS education in January due to the RN licensure requirement and otherwise would have to wait until fall 2018 to start coursework. Students accepted during this application round will be eligible to start the nursing completion coursework Mid-Spring Semester Spring semester officially begins January 8, 2018, but students accepted in this cohort would start classes March 12, This application is first come (and qualified)-first served to fill 25 seats. The application will close when 25 seats have been filled or November 15, whichever comes first. The Nursing coursework is fully online with the exception of clinical activities in your own community. Students who start mid-semester 2018 will enroll in N320W for the second half of spring semester and may enroll in one other course if desired. N320W must be taken the first semester of the program and N492 the last semester. All other Nursing courses may be taken in almost any order and are all planned to be offered every fall, spring and summer. Fall and spring semesters are 16 weeks in length. Summer term is 10 weeks in length and is optional. Our program allows for individualization and flexibility for the working RN. Students may enroll part time (1-2 courses/semester) or full time (3 or more courses/semester). Students who enroll in the program full-time should expect to complete the degree in 3 semesters (one year with summer enrollment). Part-time students can expect to complete the degree in 4 or more semesters, perhaps shorter depending on the number of credits one completes each semester. Students are also allowed to take a semester off from the program if desired/needed. 4 RN-BS PROGRAM APPLICATION PROCEDURES & REQUIREMENTS CHECKLIST Please read carefully Complete the online application at the following URL: (copy and paste if clicking does not work) Note that admission is first-come first-served and that the application will close when all 25 seats are filled, or on Nov. 15, whichever comes first. Be sure you are able to check off everything below before submitting your online application. Apply to the University for Spring Semester, 2018 ($20 application fee) University Transfer Application Checklist: If you were admitted to the University for Fall 2017 or earlier, but did not enroll in any courses at MSU, please submit a new application to the University indicating Spring 2018 as your intended start date. You do not have to re-pay the application fee Request official transcripts from ALL post-secondary institutions you have attended. Official evaluation of credits is completed by the Office of the Registrar, and only for admitted University students. Transfer evaluations can take 4-6 weeks to process upon receiving admission to the University. Students will receive a transfer evaluation when the process is complete. Transfer evaluations will inform students of the University's General Education, requirements fulfilled, and remaining. Students are encouraged to complete these requirements prior to making application to the program. Each applicant is responsible to insure all coursework has been officially transferred and evaluated for the most up to date academic record. Transcripts from other Minnesota State institutions may be pulled and updated electronically, but it is the applicant s responsibility to notify the Office of the Registrar of this need. Total Cumulative GPA includes ALL MSU and transfer coursework have ever attempted. The Total Cumulative GPA can be found on your completed Transfer Evaluation Students who have not met the minimum Total Cumulative GPA, must appeal to have their application considered.
