2 2 figure out how to have the Committees interplay. GR will be a kind of overarching committee; Communications is internal; Policy will focus on policy. Communications committee hasn t met yet (will meet soon), Pam Fralick loaned her staff to do a first issue of a newsletter and Alex has drafted terms of reference. Policy committee Had 2 teleconferences. Meeting scheduled this week. Waiting to hear from GR committee direction on policy paper areas that are needed. Website: CAMIMH and MIAW websites are being redone to be one website with improved cobranding. Should be ready in about 6 weeks MIAW: Management Committee provided members with an update on the decision to resource the contract to manage the Faces Campaign and Champions Awards (repositioning of events, revitalize the events, bring in new ideas and approaches, engage wider sponsorships, etc.). Four firms bid on the contract and the MC decided that Impact Public Affairs met our needs best and as a result were awarded the 2012 contract. Karen described the process for selection of this agency. Present from IMPACT, Huw Williams, Micheal Hatch, Kaylene Tilson, Alana Fontaine. IMPACT made presentation describing the company s background. Huw Williams spoke about his meeting with our primary Faces Sponsor, BELL Canada. They had several observations for our consideration. They suggested a sponsoring/changed scenario with spring and fall events (not two dinners breakfast at the Parliamentary Restaurant e.g. Champions breakfast, Parliamentary press/dinner for Faces). The event in May would be a sponsored awards event with the need to recruit sponsors for 25,000 each. Bell is prepared to assist us in approaching other sponsors. It was voted on by the members that we would have the Champions Awards on May 7 th ( Bell has agreed to provide us with $50,000 to support this change) The members decided that the Champions dinner will be in May during Mental Health Week and FACES campaign will be throughout the year with an event in October during MIAW. FACES campaign will be geared to be regional events as well. Huw is committed to work on meeting the expectation of sponsors. IMPACT will have individual meetings with returning sponsors to achieve this. Huw spoke of building legacy fund. Website will need immediate updating. IMPACT will work directly with Mark (web designer) to accomplish this. IMPACT reassured that the CAMIMH brand will be promoted throughout. Sub committees for the selection of Champions and Faces were chosen.
3 3 Champions selection committee; Maura, Elaine and Lisa. Faces selection committee; Karen, Crystal, Alex and Richard. Debrief on Summit on MH/Winnipeg Overall there was a very positive feeling about the meeting, however one member would have liked to see a greater seniors focus. There is a plan for a follow up meeting. Felt that Health prevention and Mental Health issues were bridged at this meeting. The Minister from Manitoba will be reporting to the other Ministers. CAMIMH will send a letter of congratulations. Debrief MHCC meeting General conversation on the morning strategy brief. Overall it was consensus that the information presented was somewhat helpful, however, we would need to see the actual strategy itself. Discussed ideas for the strategy media Toolkit which Michelle M at the MHCC has offered to provide CAMIMH members, Kim Wilson will get back to Francine with our feedback. Discussion was held about some confusion about the Partners for M/H information and kits that some members have been receiving. (Very sparse information on all of it; (5 staff; about 9M in funding; they ll separate off from the Commission on the 1 st April). A webinar will be organized with Jeff to better inform the members about the Partners program. Our GR response was also discussed and Meagan will circulate a draft. When the Strategy is released, we will have each member org. review and give feedback on likes and dislikes and then have a meeting to discuss a coordinated response.
