Digistat Patient Watch The patient bedside at your fingertips gehealthcare.com
The patient bedside at your fingertips Quality care depends on relevant patient information, sent to the right caregiver, at the right time. Digistat Patient Watch provides the tools to help visualize alarm workflows and manage clinical data effectively, efficiently, with clarity. It cuts through the clutter of data from multiple medical devices, helping clinicians evaluate care area alarm strategy, identify priority tasks, respond quickly, and make sound decisions. Digistat Patient Watch may help you: Tackle alarm fatigue Organize patient care Improve staff efficiency
Designed for you Digistat Patient Watch is scalable to accommodate your current and future needs: Digistat Connect gathers data and alarms from multiple devices. Digistat Smart Central displays bedside information on an intuitive interface. The solution can be extended with: Digistat Smart Central Mobile to bring device data and status directly in the hand of nurse staff and clinicians. Digistat Dashboard to provide trending of vital signs and alarm history, plus statistical analysis tools. Digistat Patient Watch helps to address the challenge of various care areas where clinicians constantly deal with large volumes of equipment and information. It is an efficient solution that collects and charts more than 200 medical devices monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps and many others. With an intuitive interface, it displays a complete view of the care unit with bedside device status. The same information can also be sent directly to clinicians hands through hand-held devices. This complete clinical data management solution can be configured to serve a department, a hospital, or an entire healthcare organization with multiple facilities whatever you require.
Collect. Display. Decide.
Helping clinicians manage events to organize patient care Digistat Patient Watch helps clinicians turn patient data into action. It delivers the information that doctors and nurses need, presents it clearly and intuitively. Helping tackle alarm fatigue Alarm fatigue on busy hospital wards can be a significant problem for clinicians and patient alike. For example: Excessive alarm noise can affect patient healing. 1,2 Up to 99 percent of patient alarms do not require clinical intervention. 3 Nuisance alarms disrupt care and may lead clinicians to disable them. 4 As a consequence, single-patient rooms and the silent ICU are the wave of the future. 5,6 Digistat Patient Watch includes tools that can help limit the number of alarms. Digistat Dashboard shows the alarm distribution statistics for a given time frame. A report can be generated to show metrics for a single patient or multiple patients. A unit-wide visual presentation enables staff members to make decisions that can increase efficiency, save time, and improve resource utilization. This helps clinicians implementing procedures to reduce the number of alarms and evaluate the effectiveness of their strategy. Help organize patient care Multiple alarms pose potential risks to patients as they may lead clinicians to become desensitized. Near real-time information displayed on large screens and on mobile devices can enable users to be informed at a glance about the situation in the ward. Digistat Patient Watch also provides automated, accurate device data collection, mitigating the risk of errors from manual data transcription. The chart view provides a comprehensive picture, encompassing both the trends in parameters and the alarms recorded on the same time frame. Alarm events, changes of settings and clinical information are always tracked and available for the entire patient stay. So that caregivers are informed at a glance about the situation in the ward. Supporting greater staff efficiency An intuitive display, updated every few seconds, gives an overview of a single patient or multiple patients on one screen. Caregivers can quickly analyze aggregated data from multiple devices and make timely, proactive decisions. The display highlights device alarms and warnings visually, and audibly if desired. It provides a complete view of device status so that, for example, caregivers are notified when a syringe or IV bag needs replacing. Digistat Patient Watch can be installed on multiple workstations, in hallways and in central nursing stations, so that essential information is available at locations throughout the hospital. With access to parameters outside the room, there is no need to disturb patients to collect vital signs. Each display can be customized to show only the patients relevant to the location. A My Patients mode lets nurses to configure the display to reflect shift assignments. The Digistat Smart Central Mobile App simplifies clinicians work by bringing device data and status directly in their hand on a robust handheld device that is designed for the healthcare environment, disinfection ready and drop resistant. When patient devices are in alarm, clinicians can drill down to determine which devices are alarming and why, even when patient rooms are closed, thereby supporting the improvement of nursing workflows. 1 Instituting Quiet Hour improves patient satisfaction. 6 An easy fit with hospital data infrastructure Digistat Patient Watch scales smoothly to handle large volumes of data and is readily compatible with existing IT systems. Today, it interfaces with more than 200 devices from multiple vendors: from patient monitors and ventilators to infusion pumps and many others. In this way, Digistat Patient Watch gives users a holistic view of the hospital ward, independent of the types of devices connected. It records a wide spectrum of information continuous and sporadic data, user-related and device events and alarms using an advanced, distributed and scalable architecture with serial or networked connections. Biomedical engineers can verify the device connections and the data acquisition and identify technical issues in order to evaluate maintenance needs. Patient data is sent to the hospital information system on a common, standard, automatic data stream. This device- and vendor-neutral solution uses standard protocols such as HL7 to interface with patient data management, nurse call and communication, clinical decision support, clinical research and asset management systems, as well as electronic health records.
