7 1979: The American Association of State Social Work Boards (AASSWB) incorporated : membership grows from 12 states to 49, DC and VI 7

8 1998: Alberta is the 1st province to join ASWB 1999: new, more inclusive name Association of Social Work Boards 2009: Newfoundland & Labrador is the 10 th province to join 8
