Each program can be customized to meet the partner s exact needs by tailoring the content, duration and location. 3 Clinical series trainings are designed to educate on a specific disease state or medication therapy. The purpose of the clinical services training is to enhance the attendees clinical knowledge in order to offer comprehensive patient care. Trainings may be tailored to fit the targeted audience and may last anywhere from a one-hour segment to a full-day comprehensive training. Clinical series trainings available include, but are not limited to: Crohn s disease, hepatitis C virus, hereditary angioedema, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), multiple sclerosis, oral oncology, psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis. 3 CLINICAL TRAINING (EXAMPLE) Upon completion of this training, an audience member will be able to: Describe the epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology and clinical presentation of HIV. Identify adverse events associated with highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) and provide effective management strategies. Explain the relationship between HAART adherence and resistance development. Discuss appropriate prevention and treatment strategies for HIV-related opportunistic infections. List useful resources available to health care providers and patients in regards to living with HIV, treatment and management. Discuss a patient s current medication list in order to identify potential drug-drug interactions with a given HAART regimen.

4 4 Specialty pharmacy series trainings are designed to educate on this unique industry. The purpose of the specialty pharmacy trainings is to enhance the attendee s industry knowledge of specialty prescription workflow and services. Specialty pharmacy series training topics available include, but are not limited to: clinical services, patient access and reimbursement, sales perspectives, specialty adherence programs, and specialty operations and issues management. Trainings may be tailored to fit the targeted audience and may last anywhere from a one-hour segment to a full-day comprehensive training. SPECIALTY PHARMACY SERIES (EXAMPLE) Upon completion of this training, an audience member will be able to: Discuss the definitions, trends, channel management, services and reimbursement strategies associated with specialty pharmacy. Identify the characteristics of medications often classified as specialty. Explain the infrastructure and typical practices for managing specialty medications. Identify patient services provided by specialty pharmacies, including patient assistance, adherence programs and monitoring with the use of assessment tools. List examples of interventions which may contribute to improved medication adherence. Discuss key components of reimbursement, including pharmacy versus medical benefits; buy and bill; and financial support. Describe the purpose and benefits of retail and hospital specialty networks.

5 Specialty pharmacy services series trainings are designed to educate on the unique services provided by specialty pharmacies. The purpose of the specialty pharmacy services series trainings is to enhance the attendee s knowledge on providing specialty pharmacy services. Specialty pharmacy services trainings available include, but are not limited to: benefits investigation, clinical services, prior authorizations, and funding support. Trainings may be tailored to fit the targeted audience and may last anywhere from a one-hour segment to a full-day comprehensive training. 5 SPECIALTY PHARMACY SERVICES SERIES (EXAMPLE) Upon completion of this training, an audience member will be able to: Describe the four areas that typically comprise a patient access department and define their corresponding roles and responsibilities. Discuss key components of reimbursement, including pharmacy versus medical benefits, buy and bill, and financial support. Describe the importance of offering benefits investigation, prior authorization, appeal, copay assistance and billing services when managing and dispensing specialty prescriptions. List the steps involved with patient management from a specialty reimbursement perspective.
