4 Barbara Bellione, RN, CPHRM, ARM Director of Risk Management PICA Ms. Bellione has been PICA s Director of Risk Management since She has 17 years experience in healthcare risk management. She also has experience in managing professional and general liability claims for a multi-hospital corporation. Ms. Bellione is responsible for managing PICA s risk management program, coordinating risk management consultative and educational services, development of risk management resources and authoring risk management articles in PICA publications. She holds the Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management and Associate in Risk Management designations. Michael L. Brody, DPM Dr. Brody is in private Practice in New York and teaches at the residency program at the VA Hospital in Northport, NY. He works with ISO CP-215 on International Standards for Electronic Medical Records, The Standards and Interoperability for the Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology at CMS, The Meaningful Use Center of Excellence Project at HIMSS, and other local, national and international organizations in the field of health information technology. Dr. Brody writes for Podiatry Management and Footlights magazines and has lectured extensively on the topic of health information technology. John V. Guiliana, DPM Dr. Guiliana is a nationally recognized speaker and author on topics pertaining to medical practice management. He holds a master s in healthcare management and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management. Many enjoy Dr. Guiliana s monthly column Talking Practice Enhancement, featured in APMA News. He is also frequently published in many other professional journals, including Podiatry Management, in which he was voted one of America s most influential podiatrists in Dr. Guiliana is in private practice in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Larry M. Waranch, Esq. Waranch & Brown, LLC Larry Waranch is an AV-rated trial lawyer and a founding partner of Waranch & Brown, LLC. His practice focuses primarily on medical malpractice defense, medical licensure matters, administrative defense and general liability. Mr. Waranch is national counsel to PICA. In this capacity, he represents podiatric physicians in medical malpractice and licensure matters throughout the United States. He also serves as national advisor to PICA in complex cases around the country, and in insurance coverage disputes and cases involving excess exposure. Mr. Waranch has been identified as one of Maryland s medical malpractice Super Lawyers by Maryland Super Lawyers Magazine and is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. J. Kevin West, Esq. Parsons Behle & Latimer Mr. West s legal practice at Parsons Behle & Latimer emphasizes healthcare and employment law. Mr. West also does trial work, particularly in the areas of employment law, commercial litigation, professional malpractice, personal injury and insurance litigation.
