1 Martin Sabol Director of Health Services Nasson Health Care Nasson Health Care (NHC) is a community-based health center in downtown Springvale, Maine. With a host of highly-qualified medical, dental and behavioral health providers onsite, we are dedicated to providing our patients with a professional and compassionate healthcare experience. As a patient of NHC, your relationship with your Primary Care Provider (PCP) is central. Nasson Health Care is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday for all disciplines, with additional evening hours until 6:00 p.m. for dental care Tuesday thru Thursday. 2 Dr. David Austin, a Family Physician and our new Health Center Director, is trained to care for patients of all ages, from infancy through the end of life. He specializes in pediatrics, providing care and treatment to children from birth to young adulthood. Dr. Austin received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He has practiced medicine in the United States and abroad notably, in Haiti and the Democratic Republic of Congo. I ve been a family doctor in the full sense of that work, says Dr. Austin. I love taking care of children, from newborns to teenagers. I guess I am the modern version of the general practitioner who likes to take care of people. Laura Hill has been a Family Nurse Practitioner at York County Community Health Care for 4 years. She got her Master s Degree at Simmons College in Boston. Laura previously worked at Martin s Point, in Portland, for 8 years, and at Goodall Hospital. She enjoys working with families, particularly in the health care setting, trying to help patients in all aspects of their lives. Dr. Robert Grace has extensive experience in private practice, especially community health, and was responsible for starting a new dental program at a community health center in Rhode Island in Dr. Grace has prior military experience and has practiced dentistry for 33 years between private office, military, and community health. He studied at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey, and did residency training at St. Clare s Hospital in Schenectady, New York.

3 Karen Abendroth, LCSW joined our behavioral health team in November She brings years of mental health experience to the job, with a specialty working with people affected by addictions. Karen is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She uses a variety of approaches to help patients, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. These types of therapy focus on changing negative thinking patterns and challenging unhealthy behaviors that get in the way of people accomplishing their goals in life. Marte McNally, LCPC has been a mental health clinician with York County Community Health Care for more than 3 years. She came to the clinic with over 20 years of experience, with particular focus on helping victims of trauma. Like Karen, Marte uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and concepts from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She is also trained in and uses Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and clinical hypnosis to work with patients and help them achieve their personal goals. 4 Community Action Nasson Health Care is a program of York County Community Action Corporation (YCCAC), an agency with nearly fifty years of experience providing critical health, educational and social service programs to residents throughout York County. YCCAC s scope of programs is broad and varied, and has evolved over the years to respond to emergent needs within our communities. We are a leading voice and advocate for underserved populations, and work to strengthen individuals, families and neighborhoods through our array of programs and supportive services. In recent years, YCCAC has reframed our programmatic focus toward approaches that help a household increase or maintain assets. For us, assets are not limited to items with distinct monetary value, but include an individual s skills sets, educational attainment and, above all, health. In addition to Nasson Health Care, YCCAC s major programs include Head Start and Early Head Start, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Energy Assistance, Transportation, Housing Services and Community Outreach. We benefit from our diverse and committed staff, and the dedication of more than three-hundred volunteers that allow YCCAC to serve approximately 22,000 individuals each year. We strive to improve lives, support those in crisis, and, as our mission statement proclaims: promote the dignity and self-sufficiency of the people of York County, Maine. Board and Management Nasson Health Care, a division of York County Community Action Corporation, is governed by a community-based Board of Directors representing the organization s constituency and including equal representation from public, private and low-income sectors. The Board meets monthly and members are elected for two-year terms.
