3 Educational Philosophy 2 3 MASTERY LEARNING MODEL We provide an engaging and supportive academic environment that gives you the opportunity to reach a high level of achievement. Rather than fill your mind with facts, we focus on how well you learn, apply, and master our curriculum. And instead of grading on a curve, we use a fixed set of predetermined learning standards to measure your level of understanding. Our Six-Points of Mastery Learning: 1. Block Curriculum. We have you focus on one block of nursing content at a time, allowing you to learn, apply, and master the material before proceeding to the next area of study. 2. Active and Collaborative Learning. We use a variety of educational activities to not only accommodate different learning styles, but also help reinforce nursing concepts. 3. Competency-based Education. We use criterion-referenced assessment tools to measure your nursing competency, requiring a minimum score of 90% in every course. 4. Assessment Learning. We evaluate your nursing comprehension every few weeks in an effort to detect and correct areas of misunderstanding as soon as possible. 5. Early Experiential Learning. You will start to apply your classroom knowledge in actual healthcare settings during the first few months of the program. 6. Classroom as Teacher. By leveraging your previous college experience, the full-time program makes it possible to earn a bachelor s degree in nursing in less than 18 months.* Our ABSN program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. ONLINE COURSES Online courses provide a high level of learning convenience. Our dynamic e-learning platform is ready to teach you about nursing theory anytime, anywhere. You can also meet with us on campus to discuss your studies. CLINICAL ROTATIONS Clinical rotations at top healthcare facilities give you a deeper understanding of the nursing profession. 9 ABSN Curriculum 8 9 BLOCK CURRICULUM Our block curriculum lets you learn, apply, and master one subject at a time. Each block covers a specific area of nursing, from health assessment to older adult care to nursing leadership. The length of each block varies between two and eight weeks it just depends on the content area, nursing labs, and clinical rotations involved. ONGOING ASSESSMENT Ongoing assessment is important in block curriculum because you must master one block of content before moving to the next. To help ensure your progression in the program, we evaluate your comprehension of the material every few weeks. If you experience difficulty with certain content, we help you resolve areas of misunderstanding as soon as possible. REMEDIATION EFFORTS To ensure your full comprehension of the curriculum, we require you to earn a 90% or higher on each block assessment. If you re unable to satisfy the requirement, we assign you corrective activities that let you relearn the material and then undergo another assessment. THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF A SOLID NURSING EDUCATION Your nursing education will progress from block to block, starting with an introduction to the profession and ending with a senior seminar in nursing. 13 Campus Locations CHOOSE YOUR LEARNING ADVENTURE While our two ABSN campuses reside in very different locations, each one exists to provide an accelerated path to nursing. You will visit the campus affiliated with your program of enrollment to take proctored exams, participate in nursing labs with faculty, and prepare for clinical rotations at nearby healthcare facilities. HENDERSON, NEVADA CAMPUS If you like an abundance of shopping, fine dining, and entertainment, our Henderson campus is for you. Located near Downtown Las Vegas, the campus gives you easy access to some of the best retailers, restaurants, museums, and performing arts in the country. Unique to the Nevada campus, our Veteran to BSN pathway (VBSN) gives former military service members the opportunity to receive academic credit for their training and experience in the U.S. Armed Forces. SOUTH JORDAN, UTAH CAMPUS If you like stunning scenery, our South Jordan campus sits between the Oquirrh Mountains on the west, and Wasatch Mountains on the east. Not too far from Downtown Salt Lake City, the campus affords easy access to a vibrant urban culture, national forests, and ski resorts. Because Utah is a Nurse Licensure Compact state, ABSN graduates who pass the NCLEX-RN and claim primary residence here can practice nursing in any NLC state without having to complete or pay for additional licensure applications.

Yes, our ABSN programs near Las Vegas and Salt Lake City are both accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), located at 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, Georgia The ABSN program in Henderson, Nevada, meets the approval of the Nevada State Board of Registered Nursing, while the ABSN program in South Jordan, Utah, meets the approval of the Utah State Board of Nursing. The ABSN program itself can be completed in less than 18 months. However, program length may vary per cohort because of holidays or other breaks. ABSN prerequisite courses are not factored into the accelerated timeframe. The time it will take you to complete the prerequisites is highly dependent on your academic history. Can I work while in the ABSN program? While some students work during the program, many choose to focus solely on their education given the time and energy required to graduate. Are scholarships available? Yes, scholarships are available for accelerated nursing students. Please speak with a financial counselor for specific information. Can I apply to the ABSN program while completing the prerequisites? Yes, as long as you meet all of the other admissions requirements. If you get accepted into the program, your start date will be determined by the completion of your last prerequisite course. How do I apply for the ABSN program? The first step is to verify your eligibility with an admissions advisor. If you meet the admissions requirements, you can begin the application process. We recommend working closely with your advisor to ensure you successfully complete every step of the process within the specified deadline.
