All Prospective Bidders: This Addendum modifies the original RFQ Documents for the above RFQ. Acknowledge receipt of this addendum in the space provided on the Acknowledgment page. Failure to do so may subject Bidder to disqualification. The original RFQ Documents are modified by revisions and replaced with the attached, and questions asked and answered are added as additional information as follows: QUESTIONS ASKED AND ANSWERED Q: Does the district have a Geotechnical document that we can include in the FPP (perhaps a letter referencing the Report(s) prepared for the new buildings now under construction)? A: Yes, see attached Geotechnical Report. Q: Is there a topo survey that shows the area around the Library? A: Yes, see attached Topographic Survey. Q: Does the District have a Civil Engineer and/or Landscape Architect that they are working with currently? A: There is not a designated campus Civil Engineer for Las Positas College. Dear Sir or Madam: On behalf of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, please provide your qualifications and a Proposal with Firm Fixed-Price quotation for the "Scope of Work" as shown in the attached Exhibit A. The requested Proposal and Quotation must be received no later than ten (10) business days from the first business day following the date of this Request. Proposal and Quotation to be delivered to the Manager, Purchasing and Warehouse Services, 5020 Franklin Drive, Pleasanton, California, on Wednesday March 14, 2007, no later than 2:00PM. No late proposals will be accepted. Faxed or ed bids will not be accepted. Any questions regarding the requirements listed herein must be submitted in writing to the attention of the Buyer, Purchasing and Warehouse Services Department. Questions may be faxed to (925) , or sent via electronic mail to: All questions will be responded to within two (2) business days of submission. The last day, and time for submission of questions is Thursday March 8, 2007, 2:00PM.. Qualifications must be submitted in a sealed envelope including six (6) original hard copies and one (1) complete electronic copy on a compact disk (CD) in Microsoft Word or PDF format. This Request for Proposal and Quotation does not commit payment of any costs incurred in the submission of any proposal or in making necessary studies or designs for the preparation thereof, nor to procure or contract for the service, equipment, or materials. The District reserves the right to conduct a pre-award survey, or require other materials prior to award of a contract. As the basis of award, the District intends to utilize the determination of best qualified to provide the required services at a fair and reasonable price to the District. There is no guarantee expressed or implied that the District will provide work to all or any of the Respondents that submit a response to this RFP. 5 Scope of Work Exhibit A Develop FY Final Project Proposals (FPP s) for a Library Renovation /Expansion Project at Las Positas Community College for submittal to the California Community College Chancellor s Office via FUSION, in conformance with the terms and requirements of the Five Year Capital Plan submittal process to which all California Community Colleges are subject. Schedule All Deliverables shall be submitted NLT June 1, Consultant Deliverables Final FPP including all required components, including but not limited to calculations, data, documents, and narrative shall be entered into FUSION and four sets of hard copies of the FPP submitted to the District no later than June 1, Materials Provided by the District for Proposal Development Approved IPP for Las Positas Library Project See Attachment A College Facility Master Plan available at the District website: Tours of existing Library Facility may be scheduled upon request Materials Provided by the District for FPP Development Access to District section of FUSION database provided upon award Record drawings of existing structures available at District Plan Room, located at Chabot College. (Contact Zahra Noorivaziri at to arrange access). Proposal Components Qualifications For consideration Las Positas Community College Library Renovation FPP, please submit the following information: Relevant experience, including: Development of successful FPP s, including Fiscal Year submitted, project type, project value, amount of approved State Capital Outlay Funding. Library Projects for which your firm served as Architect of Record. Include construction type, year completed or construction status, project location, value, particular considerations / challenges. 6 Other relevant projects, e.g. on Community College or post-secondary campuses. Include construction type, year completed or construction status, project location, value, particular considerations / challenges. Briefly describe your firms approach to the design process, including evaluation of current space utilization, development of options, implementation of Shared Governance, engagement with usergroup and other project constituents. Provide complete roster and resumes of proposed Design Team members, including subconsultants, if any. Preliminary design schedule, including meetings, preliminary submittals and other key activities. Proposal Components Fixed Price Quotation Proposed fixed fee, including all associated costs, reimbursable expenses, etc. Selection Process & Schedule The District intends to award a contract for Library Renovation Project FPP, Las Positas College as soon as practicable following submittal. The District will base selection on qualifications only. Once selection is made the District will review proposed fixed price quotations. The District may base award solely upon written submittals or may elect to interview one or more firms, at its discretion. Selection will be based upon the qualifications that show the best alignment of proposed approach, team members, schedule and fee with District goals and priorities as articulated in the respective College Master Plan and governing codes and guidelines.
