6 Duplication of Funding If the Duke and/or UNC CFAR PI is awarded funding under this opportunity and a similar proposal is funded by NIH during the same funding year, the PI receiving the NIH funding must meet with their institutional CFAR leadership to either 1- make sure the research proposal from the CFAR does not overlap with the NIH proposal or 2- return funds to the CFAR or refuse funds from NIH CFAR Mentoring Plan As a condition of award, new and early stage investigators and established researchers new to HIV/AIDS are required to have a mentoring agreement and plan that includes a CFAR member as a constituent. The CFAR member must be a Core Leader/Director or an experienced researcher with a faculty rank of at least Associate Professor. There are limited seats available for fellows, postdocs, students, and staff.
