GANE cordially invites you to submit an abstract regarding nursing education theory, research, or practice innovation for presentation at this conference. Papers may be presented in podium, or poster sessions. GENERAL INFORMATION

2 Submission deadline Materials must be received electronically by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, All applicants will receive acknowledgement of the application within 2 working days of receipt. Submissions should be formatted as specified in the Call for Abstracts and submitted to Susan Welch, GANE CEU Committee Chair at this address: swelch@westga.edu. Submission format: To be considered for presentation, abstracts must be prepared using the following these guidelines: File format: Word (.doc or.docx) or Rich Text Format (.rtf) format. Other formats may result in inability of the reviewers to read your document. Length: Length of the abstract is limited to a single 8x11 portrait sheet. Margins: Top/bottom at 0.5 inches, left/right at 1.25 inches. Font: 12 point size. New Times Roman is the preferred font style. Title of presentation: Centered, all upper case letters at top of page. Title may not exceed a single line. Authors: For 1 or 2 authors, center name(s), organization(s), title(s), city and state below the abstract title. For 3 or more authors, see the attached sample. Funding source: If presentation has been funded in full or part by a grant, list the funding agency at the end of the abstract. References are not required or recommended for the abstract submission process.

3 See sample abstract format below. Abstracts that do not adhere to this format will not be considered in the selection process. To be considered, applications must also include a Biographical Data Form for each presenter and one Educational Activity Planning Form for CE purposes (see attachments). Please specify one of the following specific categories for your podium or poster presentation (Education and Research). Please specify a preference for presentation type: podium, poster, or no preference. The Planning Committee will make the final decision on accepted presentation. Selection process The Planning committee will meet to finalize selection and schedule of presentations based upon recommendations from the Abstract Committeeâ s reviews. The Planning Committee will determine the schedule for presentations and designation as a podium or poster. Notifications Notification of acceptance will be communicated via no later than three weeks following the submission deadline date. Notification will be sent to the primary author of record only. It is the responsibility of the primary author to communicate with other presenters regarding the scheduled presentation. Conference Registration ALL PRESENTERS ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE AND PAY THE APPLICABLE REGISTRATION FEE NO LATER THAN MONDAY, JANUARY 5, Membership in GANE entitles the registrant to a discounted registration fee for the conference. Presenters who are not currently members of GANE may join the association at the time of registration. If the first author is unable to be present on the date and time of the scheduled presentation, a co-author of the paper may present, provided that individual registers and pays the conference fees by the January 5th deadline. SESSION TYPES: Podium and Poster Presentations

4 Podium presentations Since there will be two speakers/topics in each one-hour breakout session, a total of 30 minutes has been allotted for your session including 5 minutes for questions. Please adjust your presentation time to this format. Individual podium sessions will be based on an abstract submitted by one or more authors regarding a nursing education topic, including research and non-research based topics. Poster presentations A poster is a visual display of information focused on a nursing education topic, including research and non-research topics. Presenters selected for a poster presentation will receive detailed information regarding poster preparation with the notification of acceptance. There will be a contest for outstanding posters in various categories (undergraduate student, graduate student, faculty, staff educator, and research).
