4 ABOUT US Every year hundreds and thousands of communities across the world lose everything when disasters strike. Through no fault of their own and often with no warning, people lose their homes, their possessions and their livelihoods. Every day they are faced with a battle for survival. 18 Trustees report Philippines: Typhoon Haiyan ever recorded to make landfall. Initial reports said that hundreds of thousands of people were forced to seek other shelter to an earthquake that had hit a few weeks before. As we tracked the path of the storm we prepared the team for a change of focus as well as preparing for a wider response. to help the displaced families. Disaster preparedness is at the forefront for ShelterBox. The Philippines is a disaster- prepositioned ShelterBox aid was being distributed to families in need and more aid other prepositioned stock held at hubs across the world, including Dubai, Australia and our headquarters in Cornwall. 20 Trustees report The high income during the last two months of 2013 meant that net incoming resources reserves.
