3 POLICY CRITICAL AGENDA PROJECT BACKGROUND OF KTP KTP recognises a broad range of activities to support mutually beneficial collaborations between universities, industries and communities (government agencies/non-government organisations (NGOs)/public sector). It provides the platform for the exchange of tangible and intangible intellectual property, expertise, learning and skills between academia, industry and the community. The forms of interactions may include, consultancy, education, training, graduate development, conferences, sharing of physical facilities and student placements.
4 POLICY CRITICAL AGENDA PROJECT BACKGROUND OF KTP (CONT D) Public Higher Education Institutions (IPTAs) should effectively engage with industry and community towards mutually beneficial initiatives through role played by: Academia: able to incorporate relevant and up to date knowledge from industry and the community into their teaching, learning and consultancy activities. Industry : can utilize the resources of IPTAs to enhance their business capability and economic activities Community: can benefit from the knowledge generated in IPTAs to improve quality of life within the community. Graduate/Postgraduate Intern : enhance their personal and professional development
5 POLICY CRITICAL AGENDA PROJECT OBJECTIVE OF KTP To recognize and promote the transfer of knowledge via the exchange of creative and innovative ideas, research findings, experiences and skills between IPTA, industries, government agencies and the wider community.
6 POLICY CRITICAL AGENDA PROJECT GOAL OF KTP To enable the development and improvement of the quality of products, services and policies to be shared for mutual benefits between the stakeholders i.e. academia, industry, community and the graduate/postgraduate intern.
7 KEY RESULT AREA (KRA) 5 KRA identified are in the fields of: Education - raising the level of education in certain areas Economy - economic gain in identified sectors Sustainability and Green Technology Initiatives The Disadvantage Groups Developing Industry Relevant Curriculum (For High Impact sector)
8 MODEL OF IMPLEMENTATION o KTP shall include the involvement of the following : KPI MEASUREMENT KTP ACADEMIA KTP INTERN KTP INDUSTRY / COMMUNITY Lecturer or university's staff identified in the KTP Graduated Interns and Post Graduate Interns Identified by KTP-IPTA o o o The project means identified KTP per location/firm/community/ target group. Project may be replicated to other identified KTP project of similar nature but different location/firm/community/target group. The KTP project committee is allowed to vary the provisions of the financial limit after considerations of nature of projects.

10 IMPACT MEASUREMENT KRA will be determined by MoE Impact measurement to be approved by KTP Project Committee Impact measurement every three months through Periodic Progress Report of Project Leader every six months through Periodic Progress Report of Partner (Industry / Community)
11 NO. STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE (SO) 1. SO1: (The Process) Enhance and Enrich Knowledge Transfer in IPTA - Graduate Intern - Academia - Industry/Community KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR (KPI) 1. Total number of Knowledge Transfer and Academic projects in collaboration with Industry/Community 2. Value of investment for enhancement and enrichment of Knowledge Transfer projects OPERATION DEFINITION (OD) 1. Projects (both local and international) that have any of the elements of continuity such as planning, implementing, monitoring, reporting, consulting, evaluating, empowering, funding, replication and green ecosystem. Industry/Community committed partners may include any of the following: universities, industries, communities, government agencies, NGOs, public sector, research institutes and alumni who contribute either in-kind or cash. 2. Academic programs (curriculum and cocurriculum) that are associated or connected with industry/community such as student internship, academic attachment, guest lecturers/adjunct experts from industry/community. 3. Collaborations in Knowledge Transfer projects amongst local and/or international institutions.
12 ACTION PLAN - SO1: Enhance And Enrich Knowledge Transfer In IPTA 1. Identifying and implementing potential sustainable and strategic KT projects with committed partners. 2. Enriching both curriculum and co-curriculum in IPTA based on knowledge sharing with committed partners. 3. Building and enhancing the capacity of students and academia in KT. 4. Establishing and enhancing strategic collaboration with other HEIs in KT projects. 5. Building and enhancing an institutional ecosystem that is supportive of KT projects.
13 NO. STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE (SO) 2. SO2: (The Outcome) KTP as Catalyst for Industry and/or Community Growth KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR (KPI) 1. Number of catalyst/flagship Knowledge Transfer and Academic projects implemented according to Industry and Community KRAs. 2. Value of investment for catalyst/flagship projects (inclusive of contributions by Industry/Community). OPERATION DEFINITION (OD) 1. Projects implemented that support the respective universities KRAs 2. Value of investment value of the projects conducted by the universities with industries and communities
14 ACTION PLAN - SO2: KTP as Catalyst for Industry and/or Community Growth 1. Implementing projects with Industry and/or Community which have sustainable and measurable outcomes.
15 NO. STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE (SO) 3. SO3: (The Impact) Agent of Change for Sustainable Knowledge Transfer KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR (KPI) Number of best practices in Knowledge Transfer adopted by Community and innovations accepted by Industry, respectively. OPERATION DEFINITION (OD) 1. Best practices that improve the quality of life of the targeted community. 2. Innovations that are readily accepted by industry for product and service improvements.
