Practical cases of R&I project proposals funded by the European Commission will be studied. During this 5-day training you will get the essential knowledge and skills you need to successfully manage the process of obtaining grant funding for R&I in your organisation. The training will cover Horizon 2020 and other programmes of the new EU financial perspective: COSME, ERASMUS+, EUREKA, EUROSTARS. You will learn from the experts, who will share with you not only the essential theoretical basis, but also their practical experience, based on different reallife situations. You will get to look at and understand European grant funding from different perspectives, from that of a potential applicant to that of a project technical and financial auditor. This will be the 15 EU Grant Academy since 2008, organised by RR & CO. Knowledge Centre Ltd. in EU and Balkan states. Get to know them through their short presentations: Mojca Dušica Zajc, Ph.D., is Director of consulting and knowledge transfer at RR & CO., and a senior consultant with over 12 years of experience. Her Ph.D. focuses on opportunities and challenges of cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public research organizations with the focus on innovative capacities of SMEs. She successfully consults companies and research organisation on the topic of grant funding for research, development and innovation through centralized and decentralized programmes. She has been an administrative and financial coordinator in several projects. Mojca is an expert in the field of analysis of implementation of programme evaluations; she is an experienced evaluator of project proposals for the Slovenian Technology Agency and for the cross-border cooperation programme. She also performed financial control of Research and Investment projects financed by SPIRIT Slovenia, public agency, and European Fund for Regional Development. She is the author or co-author of several books and articles. She led various workshops and held numerous lectures related to the preparation and implementation of grant funded projects and lectured at practical trainings (in the duration of over 100 hours) in different EU member states and West Balkan Countries. She is the co-author of the EU Grant Academy handbooks. Aljoša Kocjančič is a senior consultant and has been with RR & CO. since He has extensive experience in preparing successful project proposals for national and EU calls for proposals. He is an expert in the field of financial management of grant-funded projects (budget preparation and justification of the costs, preparation of in-depth analysis of managing financial support documentation), implementation of full-cost model of indirect costs to various organizations, administrative and financial management of projects, preparation for ex-post and ex-ante project audit controls, pre-audit of eligible costs and related cost documentation for different programmes. He has experience in project control for the Slovenian Technology Agency and in implementation of financial control of Structural Funds. He is administratively and financially coordinating large international projects in FP 7. In recent years, Aljoša carried out many workshops and lectures, covering a variety of topics from his field of expertise for different groups. He regularly lectures at EU Grant Academy and seminars all around the country. He is the co-author of the EU Grant Academy handbooks. Damjan Struna, M.Sc., is an experienced consultant who has been with RR & CO. since 2006, after he obtained his master s degree in International Economics from University of Ljubljana. He has extensive working experience in the preparation of project proposals in FP6, FP7, EUREKA and EUROSTARS programmes and Structural funds, development of logical framework and implementation of many successful national and international RTDI projects. He is an expert consultant for SMEs, with years of experience in evaluating project proposals and performing quality control of proposals. He is an evaluator at SPIRIT Slovenia, public agency, and is experienced in performing financial controls of Structural Funds projects. Damjan is well known to the audience in the EU and Western Balkans, where he has held a number of lectures, seminars and workshops on topics related to grant funding including practical trainings in duration of over 100 hours. He is the co-author of the EU Grant Academy handbooks and has published a number of articles on EU grant funding in different regionally recognized professional magazines. Ilina Hristova, M.A., is an experienced consultant with particular interest in international research and innovation projects. She holds a master's degree in Politics and International Relations and before joining our team, she worked in Brussels and at the University of Parma in Italy. She works in close cooperation with technical and scientific coordinators from across Europe and provides valuable assistance to a number of international consortia throughout the entire process from proposal preparation, through negotiations and day to day management to successful technical reviews and financial reporting for their FP7, CIP and other research projects. At present, besides being responsible for the administrative and financial management of the CytoThreat project and helping the coordinators in managing couple of other FP7 ICT projects, she is already assisting several researchers in preparing Horizon 2020 proposals. Ilina has shared her knowledge and experience with hundreds of participants at our seminars, workshops and EU Grant Academy in different EU countries as well as numerous info days in Slovenia and abroad. She has also published a number of articles on topics related to EU grant funding and research projects in different regionally recognized professional magazines. She is the co-author of the EU Grant Academy handbooks. Ivica Ilić, M.A., is an experienced consultant for grant funding. He obtained master degree in Comparative local development at University of Trento and a Bachelor s degree in international marketing from Faculty of Management, Megatrend University of applied science in Belgrade. He has 13 years of valuable experiences, starting at a regional NGO in Serbia, up to his current position at RR & CO. He has worked on many projects, local / regional / national / international financed by European Commission funds. His extensive experience includes Pre-Accession Funds (IPA), writing project proposals, implementing projects, project administration, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of projects and research and development. He participated in the creation of local and regional strategic plans for municipalities and districts as well as in implementation of 4 research works in agriculture, SME development, industry and FDI attraction. He is also an expert consultant for public procurement based on PRAG procedures. In 2010, he published a monograph Territorial Pact Leskovac: Toolkit for sustainable development of City of Leskovac published by Lambert Academic Publishing. Among other publications, he also co-authored Strategy for a common market approach Serbia Bulgaria. Ivica regularly lectures on preparation and implementation of projects for different target groups in EU and Western Balkan countries. Robertina Gjoka, holds a Bachelor s degree in economics and works in the Head office of our company since She has been involved in the preparation of TEMPUS and FP7 project proposals and supports our international team of administrative-financial consultants of FP7 projects. She has extended experience with introducing and implementing the IT application EFAMT, as well as, carrying out start-up training for its users. She has already carried out start up trainings and implemented EFAMT for several FP7 projects consortia and has introduced EFAMT to several organizations which use the system to monitor and manage all their projects, regardless of the sources of financing used. In the past few years, she has provided administrative and technical support to over 300 users and to over 50 partners, in different organizations, using EFAMT. Robertina also coordinates and provides mentorship to the international students that are engaged in different research work, mainly within the department of Consulting and Transfer of Knowledge. She facilitates the communication between different departments of our company and coordinates the activities between our clients and our staff. In 2013, she lectured at the forum of the Association of Project Managers of Slovenia on the topic of Management of International Projects with specialized cloud based IT tool: cases of good practice and was co-author of several articles.
