2 Local Action Groups for fisheries (FLAGs) We have been introducing the CLLD approach on fishing-dependent areas since 2009: with key participation and full commitment of the fishing community, in partnership with local governments, businesses, NGO's and residents. There are 312 Local Fishery Groups throughout Europe. In Poland there are 48, including 9 on the seashore

3 Slowinska Fisheries Local Action Group We are a formally organised partnership in the form of an association, currently boasting membership of 200 persons. Our region is geographically and historically linked with the fishing sector and SFG members and beneficiaries include both maritime fishermen (29 vessels and 80 boats) and fish breeders. MAPA SFG area population: 68 thousand operations area: 1,513 km² 324 fishermen 16 fishermen in SFG authorities

Effective method of fund distribution availability at the local level. 328 projects have been submitted to our group since 2011 which exceeded the limit of all available funds by over 200% ,97 163,38 128, r. 2012r. 2013r. 258, r. Strengthening the local labour market and economy private sector including fishing sector 58 various companies received support to develop services 56 companies reorganised or diversified activities 186 new positions were created, including 9 self-employed

Upgrading services in the area, developing local entrepreneurship "Mistral" a cafeteria and sweets factory using Omega 3 acids from fish is a way to generate additional income for a fisherman and his family, and to contribute to the tourist attractiveness of the fishing port in Ustka. The cafe shop offers a new quality own unique product, interesting interior design, own publications, e.g. the legend of Mistral the fisherman (comics).

12 Słowiński Fisheries Trail dialogue and collaboration across three sectors The Trail partners are 14 entities representing three sectors related to the fishery background of the area, but also to culture and tourism. Together we are creating a tourist product based on culture, traditions and local fishing resources. In this season tourists learnt about our offer from a handout describing attractions to be found on the Trail. Next season, we are launching comprehensive tourist packs.

13 Together with other LFG's, we are creating the NORTHERN FISHERIES TRAIL. assumptions: creation of a culture trail based on fishery culture and traditions, presenting their specific features and diversity. The trail covers selected area in the north of Poland. 9 fishery groups 3 regions: Zachodnioporskie, Pomorskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie

14 How we will benefit from the CLLD in the new period Transition from the testing and learning stage to conscious application Reinforcing the routine of taking responsibility for own decisions and initiatives in the community Combining individual projects/actions into groups and major undertakings, generating added value

15 Our expectations in the new CLLD implementation period From ourselves, the Local Fishery Group: Creating a realistic and detailed area development strategy (key industries included, based on local resources) Supporting partnership solutions teaching local residents how to think in terms of (local) community and harmonising various interests (residents, entrepreneurs etc.) Promoting the local community's responsibility for area development and creating fundamentals for further local development after 2020 Accounting for the needs of natural environment in strategic planning and using natural resources Strengthening projects which are innovatory in regional scale

16 Our expectations in the new period From the system Greater support from other EU funds in financing CLLD Financing the bottom-up approach in operational programmes (agriculture, fishing) relevant to the current programming period Open scope of projects in the national guidelines Collaboration based on partnership Opportunities to implement partnership and cross-sectoral projects
