The Huskers sit at 8-6 overall, with a 2-4 mark against ranked teams including a 1-1 mark at the ITA Kick-off Weekend event in Los Angeles where they were able to grab a 4-1 victory over fellow Big Ten members Wisconsin. The Badgers will be looking for revenge in Friday s match after falling to the Huskers on Jan. 26 Nebraska duo Marc Herrmann and Beau Treyz have been impressive at No. 2 doubles this spring with a 6-5 overall. During the ITA Kick-off event, Herrmann and Treyz secured a win over No. 33 ranked Hugo Dojas and Maxime Hinnisdaels of Texas Tech. The Nebraska pair have performed fantastic this season with an outstanding 14-7 overall and they secured the Big Ten Indoors Championships Tournament doubles title during the fall preseason. Freshman Vasileios Stavropoulos holds a 7-4 singles record this spring, giving him a strong start to his career as a Husker. Senior Tom Blackwell sits at 9-3 in singles this spring, switching between the No. 2, 3 and 4 positions. Sophomore Dusty Boyer is Nebraska s primary No. 1 singles, earning a 10-3 spring mark with two wins coming at the No. 2 spot. Sophomore Andrew Dzulynsky is undefeated at No. 4 singles with a 6-0 mark and 7-3 overall including his 1-3 tally at the No. 3 position. Huskers In The ITA National Rankings Nebraska dropped to No. 60 in the ITA Top 75 after its threematch weekend two weeks ago. The national ITA Top 75 rankings were released on Tuesday, March 18. The Cornhuskers are one of 11 Big Ten teams in the ITA Top 75. Nebraska is joined by No. 2 Ohio State, No. 9 Illinois, No. 25 Northwestern, No. 27 Penn State, No. 40 Purdue, No. 44 Michigan, No. 50 Minnesota, No. 58 Wisconsin, No. 68 Iowa, and No. 70 Indiana. Ohio State and Illinois are the only two Big Ten teams in the top ten and are joined by Northwestern to be the only three in the top 25. The Huskers are the ninth-highest ranked Big Ten team. The Huskers are 2-4 against ranked opponents suffering losses to No. 36 Florida State, No. 53 Texas Tech, No. 49 Louisville and No. 45 Drake while toppling No. 66 Wisconsin and No. 52 Denver.
2 Scouting the Wisconsin Badgers Head Coach: Greg Van Emburgh 2013 Record: 13-12, 4-7 Big Ten National Ranking: 58 The Badgers are 8-5 coming off of a St. Patrick s Day loss to Miami to face the No. 60-ranked Huskers. Wisconsin went overall in 2013 and 4-7 in conference play. The Badgers are ranked No. 58 in the ITA Top 75 with no ranked singles or doubles players. The last match between the two teams was earlier this season on Jan. 26 that resulted in a 4-1 victory for the Cornhuskers. NU grabbed the doubles point in that match before Dusty Boyer, Tom Blackwell, and Beau Treyz earned singles match wins to propel Nebraska to victory. Scouting the Minnesota Golden Gophers Head Coach: Geoff Young 2013 Record: 15-11, 9-2 Big Ten National Ranking: 50 The Gophers are 7-7 and 1-1 in conference play coming off of a 7-0 win over Florida Gulf Coast prior to facing No. 60-ranked Nebraska. Minnesota went overall in 2013 with a 9-2 Big Ten mark. Minnesota is ranked No. 50 as a team in the ITA Top 75 and has one ranked singles player in No. 72 Leandro Toledo and one ranked doubles pair in No. 16 Mathieu Froment and Jack Hamburg.
