Parking at the Convention for guest of The Grove Hotel a self parking fee of $12 per day and valet is $18 per day, charges will be applied to your hotel bill. Attendees that are not staying at The Grove Hotel may park at the same Downtown Parking Garages for $2.50 per hour or $12 per day. Dinner is on your own. Safety Awards Nomination & Award Winner s Breakfasts to recognize our ITA Safety Award nominees. Third Annual President s Cup Golf Tournament held on Thursday, August 10th at Falcon Crest Golf Club at 10:30 a.m. for $100. Teams will be assigned by random draw. Speakers & Entertainment Featured Speaker Dan Baker is widely known in the trucking industry as one of its most popular motivational speakers.

He uses a unique down-home humor to spread the word that if you re in the trucking business today, you re in the people business first and the trucking business second.

His work is fresh, funny and stimulating, and he will see to it that we learn a lot and have a good time while we re learning. Essentially, his message is the people side of trucking.

But he never departs far from his basic theme that if you re in trucking today, first of all you re in the people business and secondly, you re in the trucking business.

6 Speakers & Entertainment Featured Speaker Dan Baker is widely known in the trucking industry as one of its most popular motivational speakers. Dan travels throughout the United States and Canada speaking trucking companies of all sizes and types. He uses a unique down-home humor to spread the word that if you re in the trucking business today, you re in the people business first and the trucking business second. His warmth, wit and wisdom is focused on the criticality of the driver and industry s mandate to actively participate in the evolving generational changeover we are all experiencing. His work is fresh, funny and stimulating, and he will see to it that we learn a lot and have a good time while we re learning. Essentially, his message is the people side of trucking. His presentations are always fun, funny, full of jokes, stories and one-liners. But he never departs far from his basic theme that if you re in trucking today, first of all you re in the people business and secondly, you re in the trucking business. Regardless of the Trucking Industry s business cycle, Dan is in big demand throughout the country. Dan began his working years as a Methodist Minister in San Antonio, Texas. After leaving the ministry, he evolved into a professional speaker, and since connecting with the trucking industry in the early 1980 s, has dedicated the majority of his time, effort and interest toward helping the truckers make sense out of their very complicated, complex world. The large majority of Dan s work is repeat business, as he is known as one of the most asked-back speakers in the business. His work is fresh, stimulating and up to date. His return visits always present new, un-repeated material taken from the cutting edge of what s really happening in the real world. After having lived in Bulverde, Texas for almost 40 years, he and his wife, Betty, have moved to Fort Worth, Texas. He will tell you that you can take the boy out of Bulverde, but you can t take Bulverde out of the boy. So, he is still well-known for his famous Bull Jokes, and his unique array of down-home humor. Dan will still tell you that all the roads and the loads and the routes and the rates and the maps and the phones and the fuel take second place to the mamas and daddies and husbands and wives and sons and daughters who give us our meaning and make it all happen. Aaron Baird is an Idaho native and a Civil Engineering graduate of the Idaho State University. Aaron grew up working in the residential construction industry developing subdivisions and building homes. This influenced him to pursue a career in Civil Engineering. Aaron entered the Idaho Transportation Department, Engineer-in-Training program in June He had the opportunity to start in the Lewiston, Idaho office where he was able to rotate through the materials, traffic, design, construction, environmental, and maintenance departments to broaden his transportation knowledge. Since then, Aaron has had the opportunity to gain hands on experiences by being part in a variety of construction projects. These projects range from bridge replacements & deck rehabilitation projects, to full depth reclamation & asphalt/ concrete paving projects. He transferred to the Pocatello, ID office in 2016 where he currently is a design/construction staff engineer. Aaron and his wife, Dana, are the proud parents of 2 sets of twins! Eric Staats has been a practicing transportation engineer since He is currently a staff engineer with the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), where he has been working in the Traffic Section for the last 4 ½ years. He began his career in Illinois with the consulting firm Crawford, Murphy, & Tilly, working in a team to deliver several high-profile highway projects in central and southern Illinois. Eric moved to Pocatello with his wife in 2004, where he continued in the private sector with J-U-B Engineers, Inc, designing portions of interstates and highways across southern and eastern Idaho. Eric was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Bradley University in Outside of work, Eric can most likely be found coaching his son s baseball team or cheering on the sidelines of his daughter s soccer team. Richard York serves as the Division Administrator for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration s (FMCSA) Idaho Division. Mr. York s responsibilities include oversight of motor carrier safety and hazardous materials investigations; and, the FMCSA State Grant Program. Mr. York joined the federal government in June of 1991 as a safety investigator in the Texas Division. His subsequent experience includes employment with the Office of Motor Carrier s National Training Center, the National Transportation Safety Board and the FMCSA Washington Division. Mr. York graduated from Boise State University with a BA in Political Science/Social Science for Secondary Education. Mr. York and his wife Volyn reside in Boise and are the proud parents of two children Georgia (14) and Clint (10).
