All Weekend Brad Adams Men's Tennis Head Coach 11th Season The season marks the eleventh year at Villanova for Brad Adams, who is the head coach of the men's tennis squad and oversees all operations for the women's tennis program. Adams, himself a former Wildcats student-athlete, brings a goal-oriented and focused coaching style to the team. Adams has compiled a career record of as the Wildcats head coach. Last season, Vilalnova men's tennis finished x-x and x-x in the BIG EAST Conference under Adams. He had x student-athletes earn BIG EAST Honors. During the season, the Wildcats finished 8-14 under Adams guidance and helped senior, Chris Seitz get named to the All-BIG-EAST Men s Tennis team for the second year in a row. The Wildcats record during was Chris Seitz was named to the All-BIG EAST team. During the season, Adams led the Wildcats to their best season since the program's inception. Villanova finished 13-10, which included a seven-match winning streak. The Wildcats received a No. 6 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, the highest in school history. Adams helped lead junior Thomas O'Brien to a Second Team All-BIG EAST selection in 2013, after registering a "20-20" season for the Wildcats. He reached the 20-win plateau in both singles and doubles action for the season, finishing overall in singles play with a record in dual matches. In 2012, Adams led a young Villanova team to a record, marking the second year in a row that the Wildcats had improved their win total from the year before. Last year Villanova won seven of its final 11 dual matches, including a 6-3 run to finish the regular season and a 1-1 mark in the BIG EAST Championship, where the Wildcats defeated Connecticut, 4-1, in the opening round. It marked the fourth time in Adams' five seasons as head coach that Villanova has posted a win in the conference tournament. Adams took over the reins of the Wildcats program following the 2007 fall season and led Villanova to an mark during the spring campaign in In his first full season as head coach Adams led the Wildcats to a mark in During his playing days for Villanova, Adams served as a co-captain during his senior season and compiled a career record of at the No. 1 singles spot and a record at No. 1 doubles. He was also named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team all four years of his undergraduate career. Adams is a 2003 graduate of Villanova with a degree in Political Science with a minor in Geography. He also earned a Master's degree in Geography from Binghamton. As a coach Adams has experience well beyond the Wildcats program. He was a tennis professional at the Longfellow Club in Wayland, Mass., where he served as the site director for the Hammel Tennis Camp and instructed the top players in New England. Adams also served in a similar capacity at the Westboro Tennis and Swim Club in 2003 and In addition to his teaching and coaching experience, Adams was appointed the program director for the tennis camps at Harvard University in 2002 and 2003, where he designed programs for advanced students and supervised several instructors. Adams and his wife, Erica, make their home in Marlton, N.J. Steve Reiniger Women's Tennis Head Coach 19th Season Steve Reiniger capped off his 19th season with the Wildcats in He is the head coach of the Villanova women's tennis team and is also an assistant coach for the men's squad. Reiniger came to the Wildcats program in 1994 after a four-year collegiate career at West Chester. He is U.S.P.T.A. certified and has 15 years of teaching and coaching experience at a number of different levels of tennis. Reiniger has taught at several clubs in Pennsylvania, including a stint as the teaching pro and director of junior development at Radley Run County Club. He was also the head teaching pro and the head platform tennis pro at the Merion Cricket Club. Presently, Reiniger is the director of tennis at Whitford Country Club. As an undergraduate student-athlete Reiniger played four years of varsity tennis at West Chester, where he reached the conference finals in both singles and doubles during his junior and senior seasons. He was named the team MVP as a senior during the season. Reiniger and his wife Beth, a Villanova graduate, live in Collegeville, Pa.. 9 VILLANOVA TENNIS COMPLEX ABOUT VILLANOVA The Villanova tennis teams makes their home at the Villanova Tennis Complex. Completed in the summer of 2000, the complex is located adjacent to the St. Mary's Hall on West Campus. This facility has eight USTA regulation tennis courts, which are home to the men's and women's tennis teams. Recreational tennis courts are available to South Campus adjacent to Stanford Hall and on main campus behind Kennedy Hall. TENNIS Office of Athletics Academic Support The Office of Academic Support is located in the Jake Nevin Filed House. Jenn Brophy serves as the Director of Academic Supportr for Athletics and works in conjunction with Assistant Director of Academic Support, Krista Chmielewski. Marissa Paffas is the Coordinator of Academic Support, while Emmanuel Morris is the Academic Support Intern. Collectively, the Office of Academic Support provides comprehensive academic support to all Villanova student-athletes. A computer facility, located in the Office of Academic Support, is available to all student-athletes. The facility offres fully equipped computer work stations with direct access to the campus network. For the convenience of the student-athletes, a laptop program has been established that allows student-athletes to borrow a laptop for an extended period of time, including weekend road trips during the respective season. In an attempt to help freshman adjust to college life, both academically and personally, all incoming student-athletes are required to participate in the Freshmen Mentoring Program. Each freshman is assigned to a graduate mentor who will assist them through an individualized academic monitoring program through the year by meeting on a weekly basis. The Office of Academic Support also provides tutorial support for student-athletes in every academic discipline offered at the University. Tutorial sessions in math for Arts & Science majors, business calculus and math analysis are held weekly at the Academic Resources Center. Academic Excellence Villanova student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom. During the Spring 2016 semester, or the first time, all 24 teams had a 3.0 GPA. 15 student-athletes achieved a perfect 4,0 GPA. 426 student-athletes achieved a 3.0 GPA. The GPA for all student-athletes was and this is the 26th straight semester that student-athletes achieved a 3.0 GPA. About the Area Villanova University is located 12 miles west of the city of Philadelphia, Pa., birthplace of American independence. Philadelphia is an absolutely indispensable resource accessible for Villanova's student community. Buses and trains stop regularly on our campus and you ca n be in Center City in a matter of minutes. Philadelphia is also home to some of the country's most exciting professional sports teams. Philadelphia's excellent restaurants are world-famous; equally famous is the city's more casual cuisine, like cheesesteaks, hoagies, and soft pretzels. Philadelphia also contains one of the country's largest concentration of colleges, with over 30 campi located within a 15-mile radius of Villanova.
