Recognition Brooke Welch, Hurricane High School Student, has been named one of the top runners-up in the 2017 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards in West Virginia. She will receive an engraved bronze medallion for this honor. Brooke also qualified for the President s Volunteer Service Award. Poca Middle School: Boys Basketball and Wrestling won the Black Diamond Conference. Notice of Public Hearing The Putnam County Board of Education will hold two public hearings regarding the 2017-2018 school calendar. The hearings will be held on March 6, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. and March 20, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Putnam County Board of Education, located at 77 Courthouse Drive, Winfield, WV 25213.
