The Arc of Monmouth Recreation Department offers a variety of social and recreational programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The programs are designed to serve various levels and are supervised by our staff and/or our wonderful volunteers. To register for programs, just complete the registration page of this Recreation Banner and email/mail the form to the Recreation Department. Blockbuster Movie Night The Recreation Department is hosting another Blockbuster Movie Night at The Arc Center. Come join your friends as we watch the movie on the big screen. Pizza for dinner. Last minute registrations are welcome, please call at least 24 hours in advance. Programs Dates: Fridays, April 6 and June 15, 2018 Time: 6:30 9:00 PM Location: The Arc Center in Tinton Falls Cost: $22 Members; $32 Non-members Common Scents Come discover the goodness of Aromatherapy with Kelly, our yoga instructor. Who doesn t love the smell of baking cookies, fresh mowed grass, or caramel coffee? Through this 1.5 hour session, you ll learn about various scents, what they are good for, and how they are created. Make your own personal spray to take home along with a surprise treat at the end of class. Let Kelly enrich your life through scent! Date: Thursday, May 10, 2018 Time: 7:00 8:30 PM Location: The Arc Center Cost: $20 Members; $25 Non-members Fitness & Yoga Randi and Kelly continue their focus on good health and exercise. Fitness combines a variety of music, dance, and exercise. Yoga offers gentle movement, breathing techniques, and relaxation. Fitness is a high energy workout and Yoga is a low energy workout. Healthy eating tips provided during each class. Dates: Session 3 = Wednesdays, Mar 21-May 16, 2018 Time: 7:00 pm 8:00 pm Cost: $55 per session for Members $65 per session for Non-members If you are interested in joining the remaining sessions of bowling or Tuesday Night Socials, contact Recreation for details. RAIN A Tribute to the Beatles RAIN is a Beatles cover band that delivers a live, multi-media musical performance with all the top hits of the world s most celebrated band. The show will be at Madison Square Garden, so we will travel by train to NYC. The price listed below includes the concert admission, train, and supervision. Special Events Date: Sunday, May 6, 2018 Time: Meet at Little Silver Train Station at 8:45 AM for a 9:12 AM train Return Time: Approximately 6:30 PM Cost: $100 Members; $125 Non-members Must bring ID, and spending money for lunch and souvenirs. Six Flags Great Adventure We are invited to join a special day at Six Flags Great Adventure that is geared to the special needs population by making the park more sensory-friendly. With this in mind, the park will be quieter than usual in both noise and crowds. Bring money for lunch and snacks. This is a rain or shine event. Cost includes ticket, transportation, and supervision. Date: Thursday, May 3, 2018 Time: Meet at The Arc Center at 9 AM. The group will return to The Arc Center at 5 PM. Cost: $80 Members; $95 Non-Members Sunday Brunch & Englishtown Auction Join us for brunch at Luchento s Country Kitchen in Englishtown, as we support the new owner and good friend of the agency for a great home-cooked country breakfast or lunch. Afterwards, we will head to Englishtown Auction to check out the bargains. Your meal is included in the price. Bring money for shopping. Overnight Southern Coastal Getaway We are boarding the Cape May Ferry, and heading down to the beautiful shores of Delaware and Maryland. We rented a spectacular home along the shore. The house is located on Fenwick Island in Delaware, which has its own small boardwalk, is seven miles from the Ocean City, MD Boardwalk, and is 20 miles away from Assateague Island, which is famously home to wild horses. The house we rented offers a game room, bikes to ride on the boardwalk, beach access, and lots of outdoor space to soak up the sunshine. Space is limited to 18 people. Date: Thursday, May 17 Monday, May 21 Cost: $975 Members, $1075 Non-members *Deposit will be due upon confirmation Beginner/Intermediate Golf This program includes months of instruction and guidance through our volunteers and on-site golf pros. Practice in the driving range, putting green, and the mini golf course. Intermediate golfers will also have the opportunity to play on the par 3 golf course. This program will prepare all interested athletes for the Special Olympics golf competition. Anyone who does not wish to compete in the Fall will end their practice on August 20, 2018 for a reduced rate of $100. Dates: Mondays*, June 11 October 15, 2018 Time: 5:45 7:00 PM Cost: $145 Members; $175 Non-members $100 for the shortened program ending 8/20/18 Location: Twin Brook Golf Center * No class on 7/2, 8/27, 9/4, 10/8 Advanced Golf This is an instructional program that focuses on improving your game, and preparing for competition. Coaches, Michelle and Krissy, will provide 45 minutes of instruction on special skills like full swing, chipping, pitching, bunker shots, trouble shots, and putting. This program will prepare you for Special Olympics competition in the Fall. Dates: Mondays*, April 23 October 15, 2018 Time: 5:45 7:30 PM Cost: $240 Members; $275 Non-members May pay in two installments Location: Twin Brook Golf Center *No class on 5/28, 6/4, 7/2, 8/27, 9/4, 10/8

Recreation Registration Information Registration Please indicate on the Registration Page the programs and special events that you are interested in attending. DO NOT SEND IN ANY MONEY AT THIS TIME! We will notify you through a letter to indicate which programs you are confirmed for and which ones you are on the waiting list for. The Recreation staff has final approval for participation in all events. Please do not pay online via credit card until you have received confirmation. Cancellation If fewer than the minimum participants register for a program, it may be cancelled. A program reimbursement or credit will be issued. Refunds are not guaranteed for any program. If the individual cancels for a program, he or she must give at least three days notice for a refund for a ticketed event, and 24 hours notice for a non-ticketed event. Please note that in the event of a cancellation, we may not be able to refund your money. Inclement Weather In the event of poor or questionable weather, call our office for updated information an hour and a half prior to the scheduled time of the event. If the agency is closed due to bad weather, all programs during that time will also be cancelled. Transportation Limited transportation is available for some of the special events for those individuals who have no other means of transportation. There is a small fee when transportation services are utilized. Financial Assistance If financial assistance is needed in order to participate in a program, special event, or vacations, please call the Recreation Dept. We will set up a payment plan if one is needed. Full sponsorships are also available. If you need financial assistance, please contact the recreation office. The Recreation Department is based on volunteers helping out with our programs and special events. Without volunteers, we would not be able to have as many programs to offer to our participants.
