General Information 2006 NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIP 10th ANNUAL AWARDS PROGRAM The City of St. Petersburg s Neighborhood Partnership Department and Neighborhood Services Administration are pleased to announce the 10th Annual Neighborhood Awards Program to recognize the talents and accomplishments of the City s neighborhood-based organizations. Eligibility: Any neighborhood-based organization (e.g. neighborhood, business, homeowners, crime watches; condominium associations are not eligible) within the City of St. Petersburg is eligible to apply. Submittal & Selection Process: In order to be considered for a 2006 Neighborhood Award, you must complete the appropriate attached application forms and mail the completed forms to: Regenia Wade Neighborhood Partnership City of St. Petersburg P.O. Box 2842 St. Petersburg, FL 33731 or deliver to City Hall Annex, 440 2nd Avenue North, 1st Floor. The cover form must accompany the appropriate award category sheet for which you are applying. Entries must be postmarked by Friday, November 17, 2006, at Noon, to be considered. After the applications are received, a panel of judges will review the submittals and select the best nominations in the five categories. The winners will be presented and awarded at the annual Neighborhood Social. -1-
Please submit the applications in the following manner: 1. Nominations should be typed or written legibly. 2. The response to each question should not exceed one 8 ½ x 11 inch page 3. Do not include cover letter or table of contents. 4. Please be sure to provide supporting documentation, as necessary (newsletter and/or newspaper articles, pictures, letters of support, etc.) 5. Submit original and 4 copies for selection committee. Categories: A. Association President of the Year Any person (no self-nominations, please) or organization can nominate an association president for outstanding leadership and/or accomplishments during his/her tenure. President nominated must have served between October 2005 - September 2006 and/or is currently in office. B. Newsletter of the Year Any person or organization can nominate an association newsletter and give reasons as to why it should be considered the best newsletter of the year. Please attach five copies of one issue. C. Website of the Year Any person or organization can nominate an association website and give reasons as to why it should be considered the best website of the year. Please attach copies of the information provided on the website. D. Best Neighborhood Project This category includes projects that are initiated by one neighborhood organization and can be either a physical or social improvement that occurred in their neighborhood boundaries. Examples include: landscaping, signage, park improvements, youth & senior programs, public safety or education programs. Project must have been completed between October 2005 - September 2006. E. Neighborly Neighbor of the Year Any person or organization can nominate an individual for good deeds or actions taken in service to others. Specific examples should be provided. F. Neighborhood Mentor Any association that goes above and beyond to assist another neighborhood group. Specific examples should be provide.
