District 3 Community Advisory Board November 7 th, 2017

September Officer of the Month Officer Lewis & Officer Costin On September 11 th, Officer Costin and Lewis were conducted a follow up investigation around 2100 S Holly St. Both officers have made several arrests from 2190 S Holly St related to narcotics activity and were checking the area. Officer Costin and Lewis observed a suspicious vehicle in the area, that was occupied by the driver, Dezmond Crawford. A clearance of the plate revealed the vehicle had an attempt to locate from a Felony Menacing case where a handgun was used to threaten the victim. Officer Costin and Lewis maintained visual surveillance of the vehicle until it finally landed at 2190 S Holly St. Impact took a tactical position and initiated contact with the driver. During the encounter the driver refused to comply with Officers requests to identify himself and he was very agitated and irritable. Officers communicated while still maintaining their tactical advantage using cover. The driver finally complied and during the contact, Officers discovered he had a loaded Glock Model 30.45 ACP in his front right pocket. Officers recovered the firearm and learned that Mr. Crawford was in fact a convicted felon for Distribution of Marijuana. He was arrested and for possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Ford Trucks, Minivans, Jeeps and SUV s were stolen and then used during the burglaries. Several arrests made, multiple juveniles involved, Metro wide effort to identify additional suspects
