Join the Wyoming Council for Advanced Practice Nursing for the Advance Practice Forum on at the in Casper, Wyoming. WHO SHOULD ATTEND This educational conference is designed to support the professional practice and learning needs of nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants and other interested healthcare providers by providing a variety of evidence-based educational topics. ADDITIONAL WORKSHOPS General conference attendees can also register for two additional workshops: Friday, October 13th from 7:15 to 8:45 a.m. - Increasing IUD Insertion in Rural Wyoming: Hands-on Training Separate registration with additional cost of $50 for this preconference workshop. Additional 1.25 contact hours will be issued for this pre-conference workshop. Saturday, October 14th from 2:45 to 4:00 p.m. - Increase Your Confidence on 12 lead EKG Separate registration with additional cost of $50 for the preconference workshop. Additional 1.25 contact hours will be issued for this post-conference workshop. CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to: Develop clinical skills and knowledge applicable to advanced practice nursing Describe current and future trends impacting advanced practice nursing Network with nurses in various specialties of advanced practice nursing Network with a number of healthcare service representatives to learn about state-of-the-art technologies and available pharmaceuticals CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS This activity will be submitted to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) for continuing education. Pending approval, participants can receive a maximum of 12 contact hours for attending this activity, of which 4.5 hours are in pharmacology. In addition, 1.25 contact hours will be awarded for those attending Increasing IUD Insertion in Rural Wyoming: Hands on Training pre-conference workshop and 1.25 contact hours will be awarded for those who attend the Increase Your Confidence on 12 lead EKG post-conference workshop. Attendees will physically demonstrate the acquisition of hands-on skills in IUD insertion utilizing simulation models. The discussion portion of this workshop will have participants conveying the pharmacokinetics and clinical application of the levonogesterol containing IUD in preventing pregnancy and basic management strategies for common IUD related complications and side effects. **Separate registration with additional cost of $50 for the pre-conference workshop. Additional 1.25 contact hours will be issued for this pre-conference workshop. POST-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP Increase Your Confidence on 12 Lead EKGs This post-conference workshop is designed to increase attendee s confidence and improve knowledge on the electrical changes occurring in the 12 lead EKG. Participants can expect to improve the knowledge of the pathology that occurs when electricity changes in the 12 lead EKG and enhance diagnostic skills. **Separate registration with additional cost of $50 for the post-conference workshop.
