Welcome to COPIC s 2018 We are excited to host the 2018, April 26 27 at the Embassy Suites Hotel Lincoln. The Symposium is open to COPIC-insured physicians, practices and staff. This years Symposium will provide a variety of informative sessions on improving patient safety and mitigating risk. Purpose and Goals Purpose: COPIC is dedicated to empowering our insureds and their staff with meaningful information regarding patient safety and risk management through professional education and workshops. Our Goals: Discuss current issues and trends in medical liability that facilitates proactive interventions. Provide evidence-based best practices as reported by state and national trends. Provide educational information and tools that improve patient safety and mitigate risk in the office setting. Continuing Education and COPIC Points Physician Credit: COPIC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. COPIC designates this LIVE activity for a maximum of 9.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Nursing Credit: COPIC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education (CNE) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). 9.5 contact hours will be awarded. You must attend both days for credit; no partial credit will be awarded for this event. COPIC Points: COPIC-insured physicians will earn 1 COPIC point per day for attending the Symposium. Staff members can earn 1 COPIC point per day for one practitioner in their practice for a maximum of 2 points. Maximum points that can be earned through physician/staff attendance is 4 points. Registration We want you to attend! In order to reach as many of our insureds as possible, it is our pleasure to present the 2018 at no cost to attendees. (Please note, this conference is only open to current COPIC-insureds.) The Symposium includes all sessions and materials; Thursday breakfast, lunch, reception, and dinner; Friday breakfast; and conference hotel rooms for Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Transportation to and from the Symposium, meals not listed as part of the agenda, and additional nights at the conference hotel are at your own expense. Confirmation We will confirm your COPIC Nebraska registration by email in April. Hotel Location The 2018 will take place at the Embassy Suites Hotel Lincoln (1040 P Street, Lincoln, NE 68508) Hotel Reservations Make your reservation now! COPIC has secured a block N of rooms for attendees at Embassy Suites. In order to guarantee a room for this event, reservations must be made prior to April 6, 2018. To reserve a room, please call the Embassy Suites at (402) 474-1111 and reference the COPIC R St Symposium. A credit card must be provided to hold the Q St reservation and guests will provide a credit card at check-in P St for ancillary charges. If you make a room reservation, check O St in at the Embassy Suites, and attend the Symposium as planned, COPIC will pay for the room and your credit card will not be charged. If your plans change and you do not cancel your reservation, your credit card will be charged per the Embassy Suites cancellation policy. Parking COPIC will provide one self-parking validation per day for the Market Place or Que Place garages attached by skywalk to the Embassy Suites.
