Main events with EU R&I in 2018 7-8 December 2017 - European Culture Forum January until December 2018 Events and activities around Europe - RTD High Level Conference 'Cultural heritage and innovation' (20 March, Brussels) - the European Summit of Cultural Heritage in Berlin (20-24 June 2018) - the European Week of Regions and Cities with session dedicated to cultural heritage (11 October, Brussels) - Fair of EU Innovators on Cultural Heritage (15 and 16 November 2018, Brussels - tbc) - Closing event of the EYCH, Vienna, 7-8 December 2018

Rationale for the event 'Fair of EU Innovators on CH' Main Objectives Promote innovation on cultural heritage in its broader sense Focus on Innovations and Innovators Provide evidence of most promising research results in the field of cultural heritage, foster their uptake by the market and society Gather different innovators, networks and multipliers from research to businesses and social innovators to promote exchanging ideas, creating synergies and new partnerships Launching event of the 'Community of Innovators on Cultural Heritage' (with H2020 ROCK project and MARINA project)

Main questions Who are the 'changemakers' in cultural heritage domain? Who need to be better engaged? Which communities already exist in the sector? How to promote open innovation on cultural heritage? What are the main drivers and obstacles? How the EU can better support it? What are the main fields/themes for innovation? What themes are in the hotspot of European policies? What are the priorities for European cities? What are the synergies with EU R&I? Where innovation is produced? How to go beyond the European experience? How to foster the cross-cultural fertilization between different regions and communities?

Structure of the event 2 days, with plenary sessions and up to 5 parallel sessions per day. It will also include the H2020 ROCK event for 2018. The Fair will host a demo area: 20 booths with 40 innovations from EU-funded projects spanning from IT technologies, products, systems and services to business and organisational models. Main audience: research community, policy makers, professionals, innovators, social changemakers, pioneers, businesses and investors, SMEs, cultural and creative industries, networks and NGOs.

Recap from 1 st December meeting Community of EU Innovators on CH: a voluntary basis Community of innovators, key stakeholders, practitioners, pioneers and social 'changemakers' EU R&I Ambassadors on Cultural Heritage: experts with solid international experience that could act as 'ambassadors' of opportunities provided by EU cultural heritage R&I Launching Communities on CH

Updates on the Community of Innovators on Cultural Heritage It is currently under construction (see afternoon presentation H2020 ROCK project on the web platform ) Objective: disseminate R&I results, exchange ideas and solutions and create new synergies among participants It will connect three main 'worlds' 1. innovators 2. investors and businesses 3. end-users (cultural institutions, municipalities, etc.) to bridge the gap between research, market and society It will gather innovators, key stakeholders, practitioners, pioneers and social 'change-makers' (entrepreneurs, investors, influencers, professors, researchers, etc.) in the field of cultural heritage both individuals and communities In 2018 RTD will set up an international network of innovators to explore the potential of cultural heritage R&I for science and cultural diplomacy through a dedicates H2020 Coordinated and Support Action.
