Objectives 1. Outline various current models of public mental health care and how these systems are designed. 2. Define the desired outcomes of a public mental health system, and the challenges of measuring those outcomes. 3. Describe different ways integrated systems that address medical, mental health and addiction issues, can be created. 4. Be able to examine some of the costs and benefits of creating an open access system for mental health care. approved provider of social work continuing education per the social work licensing rule 781.511 (c1). This course is approved for 0.6 hours. approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nursing Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. This activity provides 6.25 contact hours. PARKING: Visitor parking is available in the parking garage entered from 6000 Harry Hines Blvd. The garage entrance is to the left of the front building entrance. Follow the directional signs to the Simmons Biomedical Research Building (NB). Registration will be in the 1st floor lobby. The auditorium is on the 2nd floor.

CME Information Who Should Attend This course is designed for psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, LPCs, social workers, residents, fellows, students, and other mental health professionals and members of the community interested in learning about current models of public mental health care. Purpose and Content This course will increase participants knowledge of the various current models of public mental health care, how these systems are designed, models of integrated care, and the costs and benefits of creating an open access system for mental health care.
