Updates in Trauma Care EMS ER Inpatient Overview The Trauma Center at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah is a leader in trauma care. As one of nine American College of Surgeons (ACS) nationally verified Level II trauma centers in the state of Wisconsin, the Trauma Center in Neenah is dedicated to providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for adult and pediatric patients. We recognize the need and responsibility to educate the medical community and increase awareness in new developments in trauma care. Updates in Trauma Care 2017 is designed to update physicians, nurses, EMS personnel, and other interested individuals on current procedures, accurate assessments, and appropriate management of patients with trauma-related injuries. Our challenge is to provide optimum care to injured victims and their families in a changing environment. We are proud to offer this one-day conference featuring local and guest presenters.
Life Altering Injuries - Putting the Pieces Together Tuesday 05.23.2017 0730-1600 Fox Valley Technical College Appleton, Wisconsin Learning Outcome Participants will increase their awareness of current procedures, accurate assessments, and appropriate management of patients with traumarelated injuries, from the pre-hospital arena to the emergency department, intensive care unit and beyond. At the end of this educational session, participants will be able to: 1. Analyze case studies for greater insight into the most current assessment, diagnosis and treatment of traumatic injuries 2. Review the interdisciplinary team approach to complex multi-system trauma both prehospital and during hospital resuscitation 3. Discuss the most up-to-date information related to workplace arm, leg and crush injuries 4. Identify important aspects of the Wisconsin Trauma System 5. Discuss breakout session topics relevant to each trauma care setting: field EMS; E.D.; O.R.; and the in-patient setting EMS: Identify the needs for effective scene management for trauma patients Review appropriate pre-hospital c-spine immobilization techniques E.D.: Review the current c-spine immobilization and clearance practices O.R.: Describe how to prepare your O.R. for a major trauma case and other special considerations specific to the trauma patient in the O.R.
