SBA VISION SBA wants to be the first choice for Slovak enterprises for starting and development of their business. SBA MISSION Complex support for SMEs in compliance with the Small Business Act s principles. Support for SMEs at the national, regional and local level. To improve the competitiveness of Slovak SMEs within the EU s single market as well as in the non-eu markets. SBA OBJECTIVES To increase the survival rate of enterprises. FINANCIAL PROGRAMMES - MICROLOAN SBA implements the Microloan programme in Slovakia since 1997. It has a unique character: simple, regionally accessible and responsive to the financial needs of small businesses. Beneficiaries: micro enterprises (up to 10 employees), small enterprises (up to 50 employees). The minimum microloan amount is 2 500 and the maximum amount is 50 000. The maturity period varies from 6 months to 4 years with a possibility to prolong the maximum grace period for principal repayment of 6 months.

VENTURE CAPITAL AND COMBINED PRODUCTS SBA implements investments into innovative companies equity since 1995. THE SLOVAK GROWTH CAPITAL FUND (SRKF) The main goal is to acquire majority and minority equity stakes and to provide contribution to the equity of successful enterprises and projects with acceptable risk and return profile in Slovakia. INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY FUND (FIT), WWW.FONDFIT.SK Is oriented on startups that had their idea materialized in the development of a product or a service which is planned to be placed on the market. It supports in particular areas such as environment, renewable energy sources, industrial innovation, e-commerce, information technology, and telecommunications, technologies which may lead to improvement of the quality of life and software solutions. Science and research projects developed by academia representatives and students are also supported. COMBINED PRODUCTS Represent the combination of loans and venture capital and mentoring.

NON-FINANCIAL PROGRAMMES ACCELERATION PROGRAMME For potential SMEs intending to start their own business, e.g. based on the results of scientific and research activities. INCUBATION PROGRAMME Implementation of incubation programme for new and existing SMEs. INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME Implementation of internship programme for existing SMEs with growth potential and graduates who might be enrolled for several months for an internship in various international business support institutions. GROWTH PROGRAMME Implementation of growth programme for existing SMEs with ambition to grow and to operate on the European single market and as well on non-eu markets. PILOT PROJECTS TO INTRODUCE TOPICS OF THE SMALL BUSINESS ACT Implementation of projects introducing the topics of the Small Business Act into real life in Slovakia.

STARTUP SHARKS Startup Sharks is an initiative of the Slovak Business Agency to improve conditions for startups in Slovakia and to increase opportunities to promote companies innovative and competitive business ideas. Startup Sharks is implemented through the Startup Support Scheme (de minimis scheme) and through the Startup Support Program initiated by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic and financed through the state budget. The support provided by Startup Sharks initiative helps companies to improve their business plans and reduces the risks of failure. Startup Sharks encourages people to start their own business.

SUPPORT FOR MARGINALIZED GROUPS SLOVAK WOMEN S PLATFORM SBA is one of the founding members of Slovak Women s Platform. The aim is to promote entrepreneurship and to achieve synergy through cooperation of associations having a long-term interest in addressing women issues. DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION AND THE KNOW-HOW TRANSFER SLOVAK ENTREPRENEURS PLATFORM FOR FOREIGN DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION I WWW.PPZRS.SK SBA is one of the founding members of Slovak Entrepreneurs Platform for Foreign Development Cooperation. It is an independent, nonprofit organization which is open for all domestic business entities with the interest in international development cooperation. The aim of the Platform is to disseminate information about the international development cooperation and to share knowledge and experience among entrepreneurs with the interest in international development cooperation.

BETTER REGULATION CENTER Mission of the Better Regulation Center is to reduce the disproportionate regulatory burden on businesses as well as to improve the business environment in Slovakia. Better Regulation Center operates as s part of the Slovak Business Agency. Main activities: Regulatory impact analysis on proposed and existing regulations with impact on business environment. Drafting proposals on reducing regulatory burden on businesses in order to increase competitiveness of the business environment and boost economic growth. Applying the regulatory impact analysis on regulations in context of their impact on SMEs (SME Test). Promotion of the Think Small First principle in accordance with the Small Business Act initiative in Slovak law thus resulting in simplification of existing regulations for SMEs when operating in the markets. Consultations with business environment and stakeholders on regulations thus obtaining feedback in relation to the relevant state administration bodies and institutions of the EU. Assessment of harmonization of the Slovak and the EU legislation when transposing the EU business environment legislation into national law (Gold-plating reduction).
