SANTA CLARA Santa Clara was settled by Jacob Hamblin in 1854 and incorporated in 1915. Santa Clara became famous for its fruit production and to this day fruit stands can be found year round. Santa Clara is located in the SW region of Utah, just over 6 miles from St. George, Utah; the largest city outside of the Wasatch Front. St. George is home to Dixie State University hosting 8,570 students each year. Santa Clara is one of the top 20 safest cities in Utah, and is proud of their police department (founded in 2012) and its commitment to keeping residents safe. A recent $10 million project has helped renovate and expand Santa Clara s historic downtown area. The general development plan included making downtown Santa Clara a vibrant arts, cultural, and entertainment district.
