UnitedHealth Group giving! Website Quick Reference Guide Here s a quick overview of the most common UnitedHealth Group giving! Website features and functions, with How-To steps provided for each. Keep this quick reference guide handy, and you ll be an expert in no time! Finding Your Favorite Charities Search for a Cause Causes are what we call charities & eligible non-profit organizations. 1) You can search for a cause from several different places: Click Search in the right corner of the top At the bottom of the Make a Donation page. On the Explore Causes page. 2) Enter the name of the organization you re looking for in the Search field. 3) If you know the organization s tax identification number in the United States, that s called the EIN number you can Search for that as well. 4) Click Search. Narrowing Your Search Results Sometimes a charity search will return many results. Here are some tips for narrowing your results to find exactly what you re looking for more quickly. 1) Searching by Tax ID or EIN number is usually the most accurate way to find your charity. 2) You can search for an exact phrase by surrounding your query with quotes, i.e. Diabetes Research Institute. 3) To find specific combinations you can use words like AND and OR, i.e. Dogs OR Cats. 4) To filter out specific words, put a minus sign in front of the word, i.e. Environment -Foundation. 5) Use the Filters at the top to narrow your results according to region or category. Nominate a Cause If you have a particular charity in mind that you can t find, you can nominate it to be added to the program. 1) Click Quick Links at the right side of the top 2) Select Nominate a Cause from the drop-down options. 3) Complete the form provided with the required information about your nominated organization. We will use this information to find your organization, and determine their eligibility for the program, so the more information you can provide, the better. 4) Click Submit. Your nomination will be queued for approval. 5) Once we ve reviewed your nomination request, you will receive an email letting you know the outcome. Find a Giving Opportunity Giving Opportunities are ways you can help support featured initiatives, efforts & campaigns. 1) Click Make a Donation at the left side of the top 2) Here you ll find our featured Giving Opportunities. Click View Details to learn more about an opportunity, and Donate Now to make a donation. Add a Favorite Cause Once you ve found a charity you care about, add it to your Favorite Causes for easy reference. 1) Click a Cause s name, or the View Cause Profile link beside it. 2) Click the Favorite button at the top of the Cause Profile to add it to your Favorites. 3) See your list of Favorite Causes any time by going to the My Dashboard page and clicking the My Favorite Causes tab. 1

Making Donations Making Donations Use Your Giving Account to Make a Donation 1) Find the Cause or Giving Opportunity you want to support and click the Donate Now button. 2) Enter the amount you want to donate. 3) If your gift is eligible for Matching, the Match Amount will appear below. 4) Choose your Donation Frequency and Payment Method. 5) Add any comments you d like to send to the recipient charity along with your gift. 6) Click Next: Confirm Donation. 7) Review the details of your donation on this Confirmation page; you can click Make changes to this donation if you d like to adjust anything. 8) Click Submit Donation. You might receive Donation Currency in your Giving Account as a reward for participation. You can also purchase it yourself, to use at any time. Here s how to use it to make a donation: Receiving Matches Most Causes and Giving Opportunities are eligible for Matching! These Matching Funds will be automatically added when you make an eligible donation. 1) The bright green Matching Offer banner appears whenever a donation to a Cause or Giving Opportunity will be matched. 2) Click View Details on a Cause or Giving Opportunity with the Matching Offer banner. 3) The Matching details are described on the right side of the screen. 4) Click Donate Now. 5) When you enter your Donation Amount, the Match Amount will automatically appear underneath. 1) Find the Cause or Giving Opportunity you want to support and click the Donate Now button. 2) Enter the amount you want to donate. 3) Under Choose a Payment Method, select Giving 4) Account Balance. 5) Confirm & Submit your donation. Set up a Recurring Payroll Donation 1) Find the Cause or Giving Opportunity you want to support and click the Donate Now button. 2) Enter the amount you want to contribute each payroll period in the Donation Amount field. 3) Under Choose a Donation Frequency, select Recurring. 4) Under Choose a Payment Method, select Payroll Deduction. 5) Confirm & Submit your donation. 6) Your donation will be regularly deducted from each payroll, starting with the next period. Request a Match You can Request a Match for donations you made outside of the giving! website. 1) Click Quick Links from the right side of the top 2) Select Request a Match from the drop-down options. 3) Submit your request following the steps provided and upload a receipt of your donation. 4) Confirm and Submit your donation. 5) Your request will be queued for approval. See the status of your Match Requests by clicking My Match Requests on your Profile Page. 2

Keeping Track of Your Activity View Your Donation History 1) Select My Dashboard at the left side of the top 2) Select the My Donation Activity tab just below the My Dashboard heading. 3) Click Donation History to view a list of your previous donations. 4) Find all the activity for a specific month by selecting Click to show/hide monthly history. View Your Recurring Donations 1) Select My Dashboard at the left side of the top 2) Select the My Donation Activity tab just below the My Dashboard heading. 3) Your Current Payroll Donations are listed here. Any recurring donations you have set up will be listed on this page with a note indicating that they are recurring. 4) View previous donations by clicking Donation History. Find Your Donation Receipts You can view your Donation Receipts in two places: 1) On the My Dashboard Page: Select My Dashboard at the left side of the top Click Donation Receipts under the My Donation Activity tab. 2) On your Profile Page: Click your name in the top right corner of the screen. Select My Donation Receipts from the left side navigation. 3) Click Download Receipt to view an individual receipt. 4) Starting on the 2nd page of your receipt is an Appendix that lists individual transactions, and the different organizations you supported. View Your Volunteering Activity 1) Select My Dashboard at the left side of the top 2) Select the My Volunteering Activity tab just below the My Dashboard heading. 3) Click Volunteer History to see a list of your previous Volunteer activity. 4) Click Volunteer Commitments to see any upcoming Volunteer Opportunities you ve signed up for. 3

Volunteering Find Volunteer Opportunities Track Your Time for a Volunteer Opportunity There are several ways to find and sign up for Volunteer Opportunities. After you ve participated in a Volunteer Opportunity, be sure to track your time! 1) Click Volunteer in the top Browse the Featured Volunteer Opportunities at the top of the Volunteer page. Enter the name of a charity or activity in the search field under Find an Opportunity at the bottom left of the page and click Search. Click View All Opportunities in the middle of the page or Browse Volunteer Opportunities just below the Volunteer tab to view all available opportunities in your area. Use the Filters on the left side of the results page to narrow down your search by region, date, skills or interests to find the opportunity that s right for you. Click the Interactive Map to see a map of available Opportunities in your area. 2) Click the name of a Volunteer Opportunity, or the View Details link to learn more about the event. 3) Click Sign-Up Now to register and take part in the Volunteer Opportunity you ve chosen. 1) Find the Volunteer Opportunity that you participated in. 2) Click the Opportunity Name or View Details link. 3) Click the Track Time button under the Opportunity name. 4) Complete the form provided with the hours, date, and any comments. 5) Confirm and Submit your volunteer time. Track Your External Volunteer Time You can also track time for volunteering you ve done on your own. 1) Click Volunteer in the top 2) Click Track Volunteer Time just below the Volunteer tab or scroll down the page and click the Track Time button in the bottom right corner. 3) Complete the form provided to tell us about your volunteering. Include the name of the organization where you volunteered, and the hours and date you volunteered. 4) Confirm and Submit your volunteer time. 4

Create a Volunteer Opportunity Creating a Volunteer Opportunity Giving your time and talents is a great way to get personally involved with the causes that are closest to your heart. It s easy to create your own opportunities and events to get others involved, too. How To Do It Go to the Volunteer tab on your dashboard and click Create a Volunteer Opportunity. Complete the form to create your opportunity. Use Form Navigation to quickly move back and forth on the page. 1. Basic Info Opportunity Name The name should motivate people to find out more. Make it enticing! Opportunity Summary In a few words, say what you re trying to accomplish and how. Opportunity Description Give details about the opportunity, including the goal, why it s important, and the impact participants will be making. Keep it short and cover the important points (who, what, why, how). Select the Enable Rich Text checkbox to embed links or video content. Use the Good for Kids or Team Event checkboxes to provide more information for people searching for Volunteer Opportunities. 2. Attach Cause If your event is for a specific cause (i.e. nonprofit organization) associate it with your opportunity. Use the search field to find the cause, click +Add and it will appear on the Volunteer Opportunity information page. 3. Add an Image A compelling image will help attract attention. Click Browse, select your image following the file guidelines provided on the page, and click Upload. Crop your image by resizing or moving the selection under Crop area. This is what will display on the Volunteer Opportunity page. Delete this image and start over by clicking Remove. 4. Location Where is this opportunity taking place? Provide an address and directions to make sure volunteers will find it. Enter the Address for the Opportunity: Provide the full address so the system can find it on the map. This field will not accept an invalid address. Add Location Notes: Add notes relating to the location (e.g., directions, transportation, meeting spot, parking information). If your opportunity is happening in more than one location (e.g., multiple cities) select the checkbox This opportunity has multiple locations. You can add additional locations for the event once you Submit the opportunity. If there s no physical location (e.g., a global event like Bike to Work Day) select the checkbox This opportunity is remote or has no location. 5

5. Date and Time Add Start and End dates and the time for your opportunity by using the pop-up calendar and adding times in the fields. Provide any additional Date/Time notes you may have, such as shift details or schedules. If your opportunity has no end date and will continue indefinitely, select the checkbox This opportunity is ongoing (has no end date). If your opportunity will happen on multiple occasions select the checkbox This is a reoccurring event. If you select this option, you will be able to Duplicate and promote the opportunity for additional dates and times once you Submit your opportunity. 6. Volunteer Information Selecting the checkbox in this section will automatically notify the Opportunity Contact when someone signs up for this opportunity. Always choose Required under the Waiver status dropdown menu. Enter the following URL into the Waiver Document URL field: http://storage.benevity.com/ UnitedHealth_Group_Volunteer_Release.pdf. 7. Contact Information & Sharing Provide a contact that people can reach regarding the opportunity, along with links to any additional sites or social media sources that will be helpful or interesting to volunteers. The Opportunity Contact should always be the UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare or Optum employee who created the opportunity and is managing the volunteer activity. 8. Skills & Interests UnitedHealth Group giving! Website users can add skills and interests to their User Profile. This helps you target an opportunity to people. Click See all skills tags / See all interests tags and select the tags that are relevant to your opportunity. Selecting the top-level category will make the opportunity searchable in that category. Further refine and target by selecting more specific tags. Choose as many tags as apply. People with corresponding skills & interests in their profile will see it when they filter or search. 9. Internal Info Use this field to add notes about the opportunity to yourself or other administrators. These notes will only appear on this edit page (not to users). 10. Comment Settings If you want users to be able to submit comments, you can choose Read/Write (allowing administrators to respond) or Read Only (to read the comments without responding). You can also turn comments off by selecting Disabled. 11. Visibility You may decide to make your Volunteer Opportunity visible to everyone in the company, or by invitation only. 12. Submit! Double check the content you ve entered and then click Submit to publish your Volunteer Opportunity. 13. Edit Existing Volunteer Opportunities Opportunity administrators can edit any existing opportunity from the normal user view. You will see an Edit button in the top right corner of your Volunteer Opportunity page. Click this to make changes, and edit the form in the same way as creating a new opportunity. Once you ve made your changes, click Submit. 14. Add Shifts Once you ve created a Volunteer Opportunity, you may break the time up into different shifts, to provide more options and flexibility for potential volunteers. On the Volunteer Opportunity detail page, scroll down to Volunteer Shifts and click Edit Volunteer Shifts. Click Add New Shift and fill in the fields. Use the Max field to set the maximum number of volunteers who can sign up for this shift. Add as many shifts as you like. Use the Delete checkbox to remove a shift if you change your mind. You cannot delete a shift someone has already signed up for. You may also enable a Waitlist for your opportunity. Select the Enable Waitlist checkbox. When people sign up for a shift after its max has been reached, they ll be added to the Waitlist and notified by email when a spot becomes available (e.g., someone else drops out or changes shifts). Waitlist spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. 6

15. Guest Volunteers When creating or editing Volunteer Shifts, you have the option to allow employees to sign up guests. Select the Allow guests to attend checkbox. When someone signs up for the opportunity, they will see a field inviting them to Add Guests. These guests will be included in the overall volunteer count for the opportunity and count against the max total for that particular shift. 16. Sharing Volunteer Opportunities Send an email to one or more users letting them know about a Volunteer Opportunity. Click the Volunteer Opportunity you re interested in sharing. Then click Share in the top right corner of the page. Enter an email address in the field, and then click +Add. Continue adding email addresses to the Recipients list. The link to the Volunteer Opportunity is automatically populated. Simply add your message letting people know what you are inviting them to and why they should get involved. Website Quick Reference Guide Additional Information for Volunteer Administrators Edit Existing Volunteer Opportunities Edit any current Volunteer Opportunities from the Volunteer Management page. Click Volunteer in the Management bar. The Volunteer Management page displays all current published and unpublished opportunities. Rewards Configuration When employees track 30 hours of volunteer time on giving.uhg.com, they automatically earn $500 in giving! rewards to donate to the nonprofit(s) of their choice. By giving rewards for volunteer hours, we re not only saying thank you, but also enabling people to give back even more to the Causes that are important to them. Click Edit Opportunity to make changes, and edit the form in the same way as creating a new opportunity. Once you ve made your changes, click Submit. Select a Reward Configuration in the form based on the geographic location where the recipient charity is located. If the country is not included in the list, simply select Default Rewards Configuration. An Earn Rewards banner will appear on the opportunity so it s clear to users that rewards are attached. Participants will receive their $500 configured giving! reward after tracking 30 hours of volunteer time in a calendar year. Do not select Custom Rewards without first consulting support@benevity.org. Administrators can also edit any existing opportunity from the normal user view. You will see an Edit button in the top right corner of all Volunteer Opportunity pages. Click this to edit the opportunity. 1

Publish or Feature a Volunteer Opportunity Under Admin Options, keep the Source and Approval Status fields in their default positions: Source: Company or User Approval Status: Approved Click the first check-box Add this opportunity to the featured Volunteer Opportunities to get greater visibility for your activity if it is relevant to a broad audience of employees. To remove an opportunity from the Featured Volunteer Opportunity carousel, simply deselect the Featured check-box. Volunteer Opportunities are automatically set to Publish.
